I don't think you will see anymore updates until the amp is finished. It will take a while for soldering all the buss wiring and fly leads as this amp has a lot of it internally.

That will take a bit to wire up. Steve, I think at this point its more a matter of letting the customers know where they stand. Brad and Rob are both very stand up guys. Noone is worried about their money in the least. Brad has already admitted he wasn't aware of what it took to get an amp built. I forgive him 100% about that. I also support him and Rob. There's a reason, as Rob said, that Bogner takes two years to release an amp. I think all involved know this. It's quite apparent several guys, some spoken, some not, are frustrated and anxious and rightfully so. After all expectations were much different in the beginning. A little communication goes a very long way. That is the only point. I could care less if it takes another 6 weeks. I would be satisfied and be more than happy to sit back if I knew this. It;s the hanging in the wind part that is creating my anxiety. Throwing bones out there like the chassis will be in on the 12th, or I will check on them Monday, and not immediately following back up with the customers is the only gripe the guys I have spoken with have. Even if they didn't come in. Nothing more than this. If I didn't follow up with my customers, I wouldn't have them anymore. Sometimes all it takes is not returning one call by the end of the day and I am getting my assed reamed. I'm sure when we get the amps all will be forgotten.

Of the 34 amps I have sold, there are like 3 guys who post everyday about the amp. Everyone else is cool. I am flying out Sept 16. I hope to have amps on truck by then. That is all.

I understand that some of you guys sold all your gear to fund a CCV, but I think some of you need to chill and just let the crew do their thing. Do you want them to rush or do you want it done right?

The amps will be here before you know it so don't piss Brad off!! :D

+1

Ill keep u guys updated as requested since i spent the whole day working on the CCV.

i wake up this morning, made myself a protein shake and made a phone call. what were my first words of the day?

WHERE THE F-CK ARE MY CHASSIS!!!!! lol Answer? "well hmm, let me call you in a couple of hours."

25 boards are basically done. The midi boards are being stuffed today and will be done by thursday. Im told the chassis and logos will now be done on fri morning. Hopefully they will be done early so i can pick them up on my way to Tone Merchants. Then its on to final assembly.

steve is absolutely right, this is an extremely difficult amp to make in a short period of time and theres alot going on as steve mentioned. Everyone knows i refrain from giving time lines, but im really confident amps will ship around the first. I think the most likely scenario is we will finish around five amps and ship them and then immediately finish the other 22. Its easiest for Barang to just do them all at once, but Ive made it clear that we want to get some out and for some reason shipping some out by the first has been a goal of mine. Also, I spoke to mark about changing pots on the masters. I dont personally like amps that go from no sound to really loud and then you have to struggle to get a bedroom volume. So we changed pots on the masters so its a much smoother volume increase. This might delay things a few days until the new pots come in, which is supposed to be Monday. But since the chassis are late, it really doesnt hurt us much and makes for a better amp.

thats the latest, thanx again for everyone's patience

Side note (if the chassis end up being crap, then everything i just said is out the window and Brad and I will probably flee the country)

I have already flee'd the country Amigos

I would recomend building one amplifier to test out the new boards and make sure it sounds and fuctions as it should and Mark C. signs off on how it sounds and or recomends any changes that need to be made. Also make sure there are no noise or oscillations, coupling and hum...
Sounds like you need to find a new chassis vendor. haha
Good luck, sounds like you are going to need it. :)

Good move on the volume pots. The Ocean I had went from mouse fart to shuttle launch with one small movement. I can't remember but think my original CCV was that way too. It is damn sure something that needs addressed and changing the pots to more of an audio taper. I want mine played and want it right before it leaves LA because I cannot send it back.

So, if Winnie the Pooh and Tigger too need another few months to get it 110%, I really don't care. Thanks for the update. If you have fled the country, pop over to Ireland and we'll have a beer.

+1. Although mine's not going to Saudi, it is coming into Canada and I'm going to get slapped with an additional $500 in import tax and brokerage charges when it crosses the border. As a result, I'm happy to wait a few extra days or weeks if it means the amp has been "scrubbed" 100% and everything is confirmed to work as expected. I would not want to have to incur $300+ in two-way shipping charges plus deal with the headaches of filing numerous documents with U.S. and Canada Customs just to get some relatively minor issue remediated a month or two down the road.

Invest the time necessary to get it right the first time.

Thanks for the update, gentlemen!

Some of you guys have been asking for periodic updates "even when there is nothing to update."

Well, I think the above is Rob's first such post!
