Hello All,

I am new here. Thought I'd share a audio comparison clip a did last year after purchasing the new Celestion 65 watt creambacks.

I audio comparison of a UK made Celestion 25 watt greenbacks vs the new 65 watt creamback speakers. Close mic'd using a Shure Beta 58 on the outside edge of the voice coil. Speakers are loaded in old marshall cabs. Amp being used is a RJS 68-100 Plexi style amp (EVH Mod)

Cool man! I think I like the sound of the 65W Creamback best in your video.

-sounded pretty similar to me-

-was the volume the same for each clip?

Yes, nothing changed on each clip. other than swapping cabs. mic placement stayed the same as well.

thanks, yeah I kinda liked the Cream better too. But I like both.

The 65 watt creamback is awesome in the friedman 1x12 open back cabs!

They sound very different to me. The Creamback sounded fuller, and more clear. I wonder how a heritage or EVH greenback compare to the Creamback

congrats on the new venture bobby... can you tell us a little about the mods you offer? the evh and the 34?

I thought they both sounded good, with the 65 just a little tighter maybe ? I will have to eventually try both of these speakers, but nice sounding video..and I like Longmont ! I worked at the Meadow Gold Dairy milk plant there about 10 years ago welding all new pipes in the plant, but Longmont is a great place to have fun with a very lively crowd up there! Welcome to Rig Talk!

Anyone compare the 65W Creamback with the classic G12-65's from Celestion. I've used a couple of old Marshall 4x12s that came stock with those speakers for everything since the 1980s. I love them. They used to be my little secret, but it appears they became "vintage/collectible" at some point so now they're expensive. I'm curious about modern versions of speakers that compare.

I prefer the Creamback. What's up with your amps, tell us about them man!!
