Mesa MC90 Black Shadow? Just a thought...

Aren't the Black Shadows 'just' a darker version of the V30's? What I'm finding with the V30's that I don't care for so much is it's almost scooped in the mids... especially compared to the sweet 'honk' of the Greenbacks...

I don't know much about the Black Shadows... I'll have to look 'em up!

The MC90 Black Shadow is a Mesa-exclusive version of the old Celestion G12-80--the speaker that later became the Classic Lead 80. It has loads of midrange but is much smoother and more neutral than a Vintage 30.

I used to roll speakers all the time. At just the thought of having to take the back off of my Marshall cabs and swapping speakers now makes me cringe. Must be getting old!

One 4X12 has Greenbacks and the other has ET65's and V30's in an X pattern. I can't really tell the difference between the 65's and V30's to be honest. Haven't spent much time trying to though.
