I have 2 Creamback 65's and wanted to pair them in a 4x12 with V-30's.
Anyone got ideas where to put em?
X pattern or Creams on top?

The V30's will be louder than the creambacks so I would put them on the bottom with creams on top. I have some cream 65s paired with some g85 celestions and the 85s dominate the creams so I run the 85's on the bottom

Thanks,
I did put the Creams on top.
Was trying to do the "Friedman" cab thing with Greenbacks and V-30's.

Anyway, for those who care. The cab is a 4x12 German made Diezel. Just wasn't a fan of how it
sounded so I paired it with a 2nd Diezel cab loaded with 4 Greenbacks. That was more to my liking.
Had the 2 Creambacks laying around and figure I'd try them mixed with the V-30's.

The Creambacks don't have a lot of hours on them so I think they need more break in time.
The cab now has less of the V-30 mid spike thing going on ,but is pretty bright now.
Just need to get the speakers broke in more so maybe it'll smooth out.

Well... TURN IT UP!! I have an EVH cab and put v30s in the bottom and wired it parallel-series for my BE100, after the speakers broke in, I actually prefer playing the cab on its side so the v30s are on the right and evhs are on the left, but to each his own, you might not like that, but thump factor went way up... :D

There was a member in here long ago that used to take a Marshall slant 4x12 and play it on it's side.
Takes the "beam" out of your face.

I'd like to hear it when you get 'er crankin'.. the 65's seem like sweet speakers

I've tried the creamback m-65 with v30's and also the creamback h mixed in an "x" with v30's , lastly I've mixed the H & M creams together also. My favorite is the cream H and v30 pairing. Huge sound and great punch. It adds some character to the v30, it
Extends some frequencies and brings out some great balance in my 4x12.

Hey awesome I'm glad you posted about this cause I've had the same idea. I have a Friedman 4x12 with Greenbacks top and V30 bottom. I also have two Creamback 65s laying around and was pondering the idea of putting them in the 4x12 in place of the Greenbacks. The Creambacks have an SPL of 96dB and the V30's are 100dB so I'm afraid that even putting the Creams on top it would sound weird. The regular Greenbacks are 97dB but somehow work with the V30's. Having worked are WGS speakers for a couple years I know how awkward mixing speakers can sound when the sensitivity is any more than 3dB between speakers. I do like the Friedman speaker combo, but even after 50+ hours of breakin on the speakers, I'm still not 100% sure it's the best speaker combo for the BE100.

Anyway please let me know how this sounds if you decide to pair the Cream 65's with V30's. I was just going to find a 2x12 to load the 65's in, but would like to hear your opinion. Thanks

Until yesterday I had a V30 and a Creamback 65 in a 2x12. To me the V30 seemed to overpower the Creamback so I pulled it and dropped another Creamback in there. Maybe the Creamback 75 would be a better match for a V30 since they have the same SPL.
