Why do I like Celestion G12-65's but I don't really care for 25 Watt Greenbacks????????

Sometimes you feel like a nut and sometimes you don't.
Got to agree with Dan here. You might just be gay? Greenbacks are my favourite speakers in the world for everything up until metal.

Yes! I have four Marshall "Vintage" speakers in the 16-ohm version made in 1990. I believe these are the first year offered in 16-ohms. I LOVE THEM. :)

I have two in my 2x12" and that's what I was using in those live Diezel videos.
That was awesome tone. Man. I bet that was fun. I love Black Sabbath. I need to do more covers of that.

I have a 1960BX and an EVH cab that I run together. The EVH is slightly less bright than the 1960BX. Love them both. Prefer V30's under a mic, but not in the room. IDK.
I hard flirted with the 1960BX for a low gain cab. Man, It was hard not to buy the damn thing

Different sounds, man

Non overlapping magisteria

Greenbacks are excellent for low or mid gain stuff, and if you get the right combo they can be excellent for high gain as well - just need to work around the low end and massage it a bit more.

65s are more "out of the box" friendly to high gain, because they don't have the "chewy" slightly loose low end, but similarly you can get them to work for low or mid gain stuff

I don't know why anyone would strongly dislike either though, they are all in the celestion "family" of sound, and obviously very different to a fane or jensen or whatever. If you like rock and/or roll, you'll most likely dig both.
