I have a Legend cab with Celestion 65's in it from around 1980. It sounds soooooo freaking good. I haven't played on that cab in a while but did a bit last night. Forgot how good it sounds. I would love to find another quad of those, not the reissues but original ones in good condition.

Anyone else really dig that speaker? How about the reissues?

I think they were ok, but too rolled off in the highs and lows for me. Good GB flavored midrange.

I love those speakers and am going to have a cab with them again eventually.

I like mine with my Marshall; they tame the brightness and really complement the midrange character.

Killer speakers. I find they have lots of low end. Not super tight, but tight enough with a tight amp. These speakers have a great, liquidy playing feel.

Yep, I loved my 65 loaded Marshall cab with the 2203 JMP. They were a fit to my ears the same way the Deliverance 60 and Deliverance 4x12 are.

Killer speakers. I have 2 original quads of them. One of my favorite speakers. I am shocked that nobody bought the quad for sale in the classifieds.

Crap! I must have totally missed that.

You have damn near every Celestion...what are your fave 2 types?

I've heard a ton of good things about the Deliverance and those cabinets and I came very close to buying a D60 halfstack instead of my 2203 halfstack. It sounds like Fryette did very well designing a modern take of the 2203/2204s of the '80s.

By the way, I just checked out some of your Youtube videos; I really like the rhythms and phrasing you use. Now I have some pretty gnarly gas for a VHT and for the JMP/G12-65 cab I already own.

My Deliverance rig is at the top of my list. Absolutely love the amp/cab combination. I'm also a huge fan of my JMP (boosted) with the right cab, and for me that's a G12-65 loaded 4x12 (haven't tried a 2x12). With that said, the D60 seems to lean towards a more modern take on the Hiwatt side to my ears than Marshall but either comparison works and I've heard many compare the Deliverance amps to Marshall.

Appreciate the kind words. I had forgotten that I have a JMP video up with the G12-65 cab. Plenty of Deliverance vids though.

I love them. I had one JCM800 Cab with 75's and the other had 65's. Together they sounded mammoth, so I X patterned both cabs. I love those 2 cabs

Good to know about the RIs. I will definitely have to look into it.

Thegame from this forum had 4xG12-65 Heritage series hanging around at my house in boxes for about a year now. I just installed them in an old Peavey front loaded cabinet that I had gotten with my Peavey Ultra Plus years ago (I had G12T-75’s in it from my Marshall cab). The Marshall 4x12 cab is loaded with some Celestion Hellatones in it. I had purchased a Bogner Alchemist last year (lots of bad reviews) I have since replaced all the tubes and re-biased the amp. The sound that I get out this combination is great and I was just telling Thegame last night that I think I finally found the sound I was looking for.

gat damn, i've been trying to find some original 65's for a long time. I love these speakers

I've been through dozens of cabs over the years. My search finally ended the second I heard G12 65s for the first time. Now I've got 2 JCM800 cabs loaded with them and haven't had cab GAS in years.
