We have an old '81 Marshall straight with four of these silver backed G12C 30's in it. I read where some people said it was a short run, kind of a reissue of the Hendrix speaker (use to be 25 watt) yada yada yada... Does anyone know about these guys? I read that people thought they we kind of light sounder or soft but I will tell you that's what I like about them and what I like about this cab. It records incredible. It doesn't have the 'in your face' thing that my other cabs have. It's very different and a nice addition to the collection. They are all good but this cab is a new thing for me. This cab and my '71 sounds almost like Warren Dimartini. I'm looking to get another cab like this if anyone has a line on one.

What's the deal with these speakers?

These speakers are still being made and are used in the JVM cabinets, as well as the JH 100 stack:
They were supposedly Celestion's take on the JImi era speakers, with a different approach than the Heritage series:

Is this what you mean ?

If so, they have nothing to do with any GB or H30.
