Replaced my Heritage G12Ms in my Zilla 2x12 on Thursday with two Creambacks and couldn't be happier. I'm running them with a modded Marshall JVM410H so I needed the increased power handing but having run the JVM at 50w through both the Greenies and then the Creambacks before I put the two tubes I removed back in, I can definitely say I'm really happy with the Creambacks!

They just seem like a thicker, fatter speaker to me. More low end too which at high volumes is great. That was pretty much my only complaint with the heritage Greenbacks; they seemed to lose low end punch the more I pushed them. I'm sure this is different in a 4x12 but in the 2x12 I couldn't get the same kind of low end thump that I can now get with the Creambacks. It seems to retain the Greenback tone And they're not yet broken in!

Gigged the Creambacks Thursday and Friday night and I was just really happy. Minimal EQ tweaks as I guess that ultimately they're still voiced very much like Greenbacks but - for me - a better version. I love how the higher power handling seems to give them more punch. Can't wait to fully break them in.

Good to hear. Have you tried the Lynchbacks? They are my current favorite and I'm wondering how they compare.

I have heard good things about this speaker. You sure you are talking about the G12M "20watt" Heritage and not the Chinese greenback RI's? I can see it in as a comparison. These are 8ohm Creambacks you have?

The Lynchbacks kicks ass!!!!

Thanks for the post!!

Of all the latest and greatest drivers out there today, I've really been keen to hear what peeps are thinking of these as they start to trickle into various cabs around the globe.

Keep us posted as to what they're all about.

Thanks!

Yes... I definitely own G12M 20w heritage GBs and not the RIs.

And yup, 8ohms.

I run a pair of regular 65's in a 2x12. Anybody knw how the creamys compare to the regular ones?

Awesome! I'm off to zilla this week to try creambacks back to back with a V30/K100 mix in a super fat boy cab. Be interesting to see which I prefer :)

Cool. Mine are in a Super Fatboy. Love it.

Well, after going to zilla yesterday, I ordered a superfatboy with 2 creambacks in it!
The creamback cab was just so much warmer than the v30/k100 cab, especially with light- and mid-gain sounds. The v30/k100 had a certain harshness to the high mids and treble imho, which is also what I don't like about my current cab that has those speakers in it. So it looks like the creambacks are exactly what I'm after.
So I'm getting the superfatboy in blue snakeskin, and they're covering my Diezel Herbert head to match - can't wait!! :)

I have an older Marshall cab from the 80's that has G12M-65s in it and I love 'em. I've enjoyed these speakers for years. Nice to see other people enjoying them.

I'm thinking about trying either the Creambacks with my Scumback BM75s (Blackbacks) or WGS ET-65s.

Anybody run this mix yet?

I dropped a Creamback in a Hot Rod deluxe and the improved sound is amazing.

I'm horny for these.

I either want to mix 'em into my 4x12 loaded with G12K100s (Diezel), or my Bogner 4x12 loaded with V30s (20th-A XTC), or my Fryette 4x12 loaded with P50Es (although I actually dig this cab JUST as it is).

The V30 Bogner cab is probably my main target. Not sure how these Creams would perform with my Diezels.

From my experience of mixing my Diezels with my 80's Marshall cab loaded with 'em, I doubt you'd be disappointed. But, of course, your results many vary.

All I can say is I'm all right with it.

I run a pair of G12-65's in a FL 2x12 and my Einstien loves'em.

WANT these for my EVH cab. I'm waiting for Avatar to get them in so I can get them Hellatoned though.
