Thinking of getting a pair to blend with V 30's but there aren't a bunch of clips out there. Who uses them or can tell me what you like dislike about them?
Good questions. I’ll be watching this post closely. I recently bought a 20th anniversary JCM 1/2 stack and some tool took the original 65’s out long ago. I have a 4x12 straight cab that has the 65’s in it and I love it so I was thinking about grabbing 4 of the heritage 65’s. Also considering Warehouse speakers as well.
^ What he said. I have had one in a Marshall style, Avatar 1x12 cab for years. Love it! Highs are a little rolled off, which I like. Ever amp Ive plugged into that cab sounded good. YMMV

These are great speakers. Great to blend with others also. My friend and I loaded vintage g12-65 and new heritage g12-65 with g12-80s, creamback 75s. Vintage 30s, and newer greenbacks and they sounded great with everything.
I’m in the minority…..I hate them. Have owned originals from 79’ and modern reissues. Flat, dull, and honky mids. Couldn’t yank them fast enough. I actually prefer current day G12T-75’s over them by a fair amount. FWIW, the current UK Greenback reissues are my favorite speakers of all time. Even over vintage and Heritage/EVH G12Ms.
I have 2 old 65’s mixed with 2 reissued 65’s in a Diezel FL cab. The reissues are great.
My favourite speaker for high gain.
If you find the mids are hard or harsh with your amp and other Celestions these 65’s can smooth those frequencies out. IMHO
….and I can’t stand any H mag speaker other than the first 80s, and the H25s.
H30s? Ugh. Can’t stand those scratchy highs.
Just shows how different we all are lol.
65s are like bigger sounding greenbacks, and mix well with many other types. The Heritage version is a great reissue and sounds like the original.
I like the G12-65 a lot although they don’t sound just like higher powered greenbacks to me. They have their own kind of frequency response and character. I actually like using the cab I have them in for lead tones over the top of rhythms where I use old G12T-75’s. The 65’s prominent mids kind of sit right where the 75’s are rolled back.
