I'm specifically interested to hear from folks who've had a change to compare the Celestion Heritage G12H (UK made, this one: https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/G12H-HER558) to the Scumback H55.

I'm shopping for a new speaker for my Goodsell Super 17 MKIV. I just got a new Super 17, after stupidly selling one about a year ago. The first one I owned had the aforementioned Heritage G12H (like the one I linked to above), and it sounded really good in that amp. My current Super 17 came with a RG12C (WGS G12CS), and while it sounds pretty good, I'm looking to get back to the tone of the original one... BUT if the Scumback is an improvement over the Celestion Heritage, I'd be inclined to go that way as the Scums I've owned thus far (M75s and J75s) have treated me well.

Thoughts?

I really hate the Heritage G12H. I can't put a finger on it other then it is like fingernails to a chalk board to me. I had a few 2 x 12 cabs with those speakers and I couldn't get rid of them fast enough. Some people really like them. Maybe the frequencies don't like my ears or something. I could never dial out the strange high end twank I was getting from them. Not very smooth to my ears.
