Hey guys! So I have a Rectifier 2x12 with Elite 80's in it and i'd like to upgrade. I have a V30 laying around and I want to pair it with either a Creamback H75 or Redback. The amps i'm running through it are a Mesa Boogie Rev G Triple Rectifier and a Peavey 6505+. Anyone have any suggestions for which one might pair better with these amps? I'm usually playing attenuated or at moderate volume. Style wise I play most everything, but my bread and butter is hardcore and punk. Thanks for the input guys!

I’ve had V30’s paired with H75 Creambacks and didn’t like it. Was bright, stiff, yet also too smooth for me. Haven’t tried redbacks, but guessing it would work better with V30’s than H75’s. My favorite speaker to pair with V30’s has been by far the Alnico Gold’s and I’ve tried quite a few pairings with V30’s such as F90’s, Jensen Electric Lightning’s, T75’s, ‘80’s 75’s Vented and ‘70’s RIC Creambacks. All these combos have been in 412 though fwiw

Thanks for the response! Think the 65 would make a huge difference or more of the same?

I love the v30/Creamback H75 combo. I have 2 412s loaded that way. I’ve never tried a Redback, but listening to comparison clips, I’d imagine it’d be a darker combination than the V30/H75s

If you want bright and sizzle go with the H75. If you want deep and smooth, go with the Redback.

I’ve had both the H75 and Redback. Greatly prefer the Redback, but my amps are bright. You really have to try both combos to see which you’ll prefer. That’s the only way to know for sure.

The H75/V30 combo gets a lot of hype but I could not get along with it. Not bad, but a bit too harsh and bright for me. I like the M65 much better with V30's, or god forbid a T75 for a sick thrashy tone. Never tried the Redback but am interested for sure.

I just tried several speaker combo's in my Bogner 2x12OS, my favorite combo was V30+Alnico Cream. The V30+Alnico Gold was a close second.

I agree that the H75 is quite bright, but I actually found it to be smooth for my taste and actually lacking sizzle despite all the brightness. Something like the T75’s have sizzle and sharper highs. Neither though are speaker I like that much

Not sure. Never tried that combo myself, but wasn’t in love with that speaker either. The Gold was by far the best with the V30 for me. The Gold’s are the only non-vintage speakers that I’m planning to keep in my collection

Have you compared the Gold to the Cream? If so, which did you prefer? I’ve never played any of the Celestion Alnicos, but from the clips I’ve heard, I like the Gold the best of all of them.

I’ve never tried a cream in person. I chose the Gold’s for the same reason. They sounded best to me in the clips. The Cream’s seemed smoother and less lively. I definitely like them better than the Blues, which I have tried

So I just ordered a Redback. Going to give that a try, if it doesn't play nice with the V30 I'll pop it in a 1x12. Now to figure out if I'm going with the 65 or 75. Thanks for the feedback guys! I appreciate it

I've had this exact dilemma. I love the Redback in my 1x12's. I play rodded marshall style amps and the V30s they replaced were a better fit for my ears.

I've currently got the V30/H75 in my Friedman. At higher gig volumes, it can get a bit ice-picky and altogether, after 3 years, this combo has at least 50 hours on them. They do cut great. ...BUT...I'm thinking of replacing one of them with the Redback...Or both.

To me, the Redback cuts a bit of that 'spike', but still has some sizzle, mids, and great punch. It removes that buzzsaw upper end that some love or hate in the V30, but not so much that it's not cutting at all.

I'm thinking to replace the V30 and go Redback/H75 right now... Overall, great speaker.

I have an H75 and a Redback coming in. I decided to keep the V30 in its 1x12 for another amp and roll with the Creamback/Redback mix. Should be fun! Thanks for the feedback. What you're describing sounds solid sound wise!

I've got a 2x12 with a V30 and a 65. I also find this combo to be too bright and harsh, but to be fair, both speakers have seen very little play time. The cab isn't the greatest either. At one point I had a XXX and a 6505+ vid on my YT channel with this cab, but after sitting on them a few months I took them down.

H75 I could not bond with. Maybe for low gain rock or thinner tones. The Redbacks sounds so much fatter and fuller, deeper and punchier.
I tried a bunch of combos in my Stone Age 212 and ended up two Redbacks.
H75 sounded hollow to me and even the K100/Redbacks didn't have the girth and fullness of the two reds.

In a 412 I had V30/CL80 and switched to V30/RB.

Favorite speaker at low of high volume.
