This is in no way scientific. These speakers are brand new as of this week. Just an in the room with a phone comparison. These speakers have zero break in. Played them a few minutes and hit record.

This is the 3rd cab I have loaded with G12-H75 Creambacks and it's my favorite speaker to date. Thought I would give these new 150w Redbacks a shot. I really like them so far. They are more even across the board and seem to be ideal for more of a metal tone. They breakup without being pushed too hard as well. Kinda nice for high wattage speaker. I'm really pleased with them so far.

What do you guys think?

Sounds nice Tom! Not sure if you dialed in different between speakers or moved the camera/phone mic but the Redbacks sound much fuller across the board.

From the sounds of your Gemini clips, I think I need to try KT77s in my Ares.

I was listening to both of these on youtube yesterday... great work as usual... but I really like the Creambacks more? Not sure why... maybe the Reds sounds/feel better in the room.

Thanks Mike! I think the Redbacks have more lower mids going on and seem to have the mid frequencies more tame or even? The Creambacks have a pretty dominate mid tone that I really dig.

Guess what? This clip was with KT88's! Lol, I just put them in to try and I like them in the Gemini. Probably leave the Gold Lion KT77's in the Colossus and the Ares. Just nice to have the variety at this point!

Thanks brother! I have to agree, I prefer the Creambacks more. I love the mid punch they have. Such a great all around speaker. Cut great!

I do really like these RB's so far. Great alternative for some different tones.

sounds great, pretty thick... thanks for the clip. I just ordered a 8 ohm redback for my mark iv combo...

The mark iv combo had the ev evm which I didnt really dig the tone of, but that evm speaker had crazy headroom and could handle the output of the mark iv.

I just tried a mesa mc90 which wasn't really my thing sound wise in this amp, and tried a v30 which sounded really awesome but I really don't think it would hold up power wise in the end being 60 watts.

I am hoping this redback will be the answer.

cheers

Well they sure sound good  Guess I'll have to try all three then.

What were your settings on the Gemini for these clips? I might have to try 'em on mine. Although mine has some kind of crunch/high-gain mod.

I saw these before and was Interested, thanks for clips. I think they both sound good. Redbacks do sound fuller/thicker

Both good but I like the mids of the Creamback better in these clips.

Thoughts on the Redback vs. the K-100?

I personally don't care for the K100 because of the nasally quality they seem to have. Kind of like the G12T-75

Any change in opinion on which you prefer since the Redbacks have broken in?

I really liked the Creamback H75 I had in a splawn cab mixed with v30s. I became interested in the Redbacks by a recent Facebook post by Rick St. Pierre where he mixed Alnico Creams/Redbacks in a 412. I was thinking that might be a good combo, but then was thinking about Alnico Cream/Creamback H75 mix as well.

THese sounds like they would mix great in a 2x12.

I agree!! They both have the same sensitivity so volume wise they will be matched.

Sorry I missed your post brother. I still prefer the Creams for what I do. The RB is a great speaker though and a ReALLY close second for me.
