I'm a rookie to the speaker game, only having played V30s. For reference, I have a Diezel VH4 w/ matching 412 w/ V30s; just picked up a Marshall 1936 w/ M65 cream backs. Both sound glorious. I've looked at charts on the Celestion website, but is anyone willing to give a quick and dirty verbal description behind what to expect from the difference in V30, cream back, greenback, redback. Hard for me to wrap my head around all this. Thanks in advance from a speaker novice!

There's a German dude that has demo'ed a ton of Celestions with a Marshall and a Les Paul..
Anyone remember that dude?

^ I really like that V30/Swamp blend. Always wanted to try that but I'm already just so happy with the K/V blend to justify spending more $ at this point.

The problem is that your question really depends on the amp...a speaker you like with your VH4 (V30) might sound like ass with a Marshall or similar. Describing how a Redback sounds is not very telling since it may sound very different from amp to amp. I'd research more in the vein of 'what speakers do you guys use with your VH4' more than just straight comparisons/descriptions. Long ago I bought a V30 cab because everyone said that's the cab to get. Well, sure it's the cab to get IF you have a Mesa for instance. I had a Marshall and it just didn't sound very good. I would later find out that instead of V30s, Marshalls sound much better with Greenbacks or 65s, 75s. Wasted a lot of time on trying different speakers out instead of researching specifically what speakers work best with my amp.
In your case, V30s are def great with your amp; I've also read K100s are too.
