I recently got a PS-2 as well! It really is an amazing piece of gear - reactive load, attenuator and load box. So damn transparent as an attenuator too.

This is a short video I shot today with my Engl Savage into the PS2 and then into a Mesa Boogie thiele cab. Was really digging the tone. Channel and master bolume on the amp were both around 1-2 o'clock.

The PS2 is pretty great, however, I A/B the PS2 with the OX today & the OX sounded a tad more natural & open.

Did Hou A/B them as a n attenuator? If so, I had quite the opposite results. The Fryette are far superior as an attenuator.

Yes, we just A/B them as straight attenuator on a Marshall Super Lead. I thought the OX sounded more organic & natural & the PS2 sounded more compressed.

What did you think of the OX & why did you think the PS2 was far superior? Any tips I can uses to get my PS2 to sound better?

That's the first time I've read someone preferred the OX's attenuation to the PS2. . Just out of curiosity do you get to play your YETI 50 without an attenuator somewhere at a rock-band-type volume ? IF so , how do you like the attenuator on it, after doing that?

Eric

p.s. your clip and playing sounds great

I've never been able to turn up the Yeti. It's REALLY loud.

I had the master at 7 with the PS2. Without the attenuator, I would actually go deaf.

I have the PS1 and am not in love with it. A/B'ed it with an Aracom, which I had heard is a lot better with vintage Marshalls. Nope. For the two Marshalls I have with loops I built a master volume box, which works well, but still needs to be loud to not sound thin. Can't spend what an Ox costs, but am always looking at other options. And I keep my PS1 settings the same as the one in the first video here.
