Actually I disagree. There is a lot you can tell by the clips no matter how good or bad they are recorded. That being said, I think this amp may have potential if not right out of the box, then with some tweaking.

I've said this a thousand times..... you can't go by the clips. ;) Wait till Art gets his and then we'll know.

One thing you can tell for sure with these clips.....GT75's suck ass!
Worst speaker of all time if your going for a classic tone IMO
I brought my CCV in to a local music store and played through a brand new Marshall cab with 75's. The store workers were floored how good it sounded with the 75's...  ...of course it was mostly the amp ;)
Blah, blah, blah........

I think those clips of the chupacbra have officially killed this thread

Do you guys really think that someone on here isnt gonna get one of these amps and post a killer clip of their own? Its so obvious that those clips were played by a not so great player, with a bad speaker choice ,and bad recording technique. I guess you guys just wanna bad mouth this amp for whatever reason. How many guitar players does it take to screw in a lightbulb??????? 10 . 1 to screw the bulb in, and 9 more to say they could have done it better!

Probably true. For my part, I was just trying to understand the hype not really having a dog in the hunt. The clip came out and that was that. I hope someone does put one out that gives a true rendition.

I think what's really going on here is that some of the basement rockstars that spend big bucks on their gear don't want the 950 dollar amp to have a shot. Lets just wait for some good clips to surface, the guy that has the first post on the 4th page of this thread made a clip of his Aldrich Cameron and it sounded like shit so if we based every Aldrich off that clip does that mean the amp really sucks????

Ok when you get yours, we'll be waiting for the expert's clips! I'll even hold the camera.

Hopefully a few more weeks and we will see. I am going to get the zoom q3hd so I can do some clips, I acutally bought the new alesis video track but the audio wasn't that great so it went back. Dave I already have a mod ready for it if it doesn't cut it.

I want it to sound good...so I can buy one  I am just waiting for you to get yours first...I trust you opinion
Why bother? You know how to do it yourself and have the skills...

Teleblaster I was waiting for the goat jokes to surface, not sure if anybody knows about the goat connection. Good job.

I've heard clips of more expensive amps sound worse.

It's not the greatest clip, but from it I think the amp some potential to sound good. Ample bass, ample mids, ample gain, ample girth, ample Marshall.

100 internet dollars if that same clip had been done of a CCV everyone would be saying how badly it was recorded, not how badly the amp sounded.

Give this man a cigar, well said.

I think it sounds like it has a lot of potential :)
I`ve tried to record clips myself, with a 57, a MKiic+ and a Gibson LP.
It sounded godly to my ears in the room, but average on tape... It actually sounds better than my clips did.

Peter Diezel was unhappy with the first clip of the Herbert hitting the internet.... :D Because he knew it could sound better than what he heard.

I think this is a good point. Its hard to get a clip to sound good...even on a great amp. Some guys have a knack for it, while others dont. Dave's video's.... for example...always sound good. I mean, obviously the amps are good, but its a quality recording also, and you can tell its capturing a lot of the nuances of the tone. I have a feeling , if I tried my hand at the video thing, the results might not be as good.

Vince,
That clip you made of your Art modified Jet City was killer! you are the man to record the Ceritone.

I think there's a good tone in there. Just needs to be dialed in with more mids and treble. The bass sounded tight and the saturation sounded nice. Just a little muffled.
