Has anyone here ever played through one of the lower wattage Ceriatone Marshall clones? The 18 watt, 18 TMD/EF86, 20w Lead and Bass, and the 36 watt. I've always thought it would be really cool to get one of these and mod it. Turn it into a low wattage hot rodded Marshall. I really want the modded Marshall sound to combine with my Mesa for my Rhythm tones, and use the mod for my leads. I like lower wattage amps, getting that modern high-gain sound at lower volumes when it's necessary. I can play as loud as I want at home, but I play at a variety of different places, so having a low wattage amp would be preferred.

Has anyone here done anything like that? And what mods would I be looking for? I know I need an effects loop installed, either solid state or tube buffered. I wonder if I should just send it to Friedmen for the Brown Eye with Saturation Switch   That would be awesome, but expensive for me.

If you want hot rodded Marshall at low volume, save a ton of money and get a Blackstar HT-5. Those amps you listed are going to be LOUD before they hit the sweet spot. In fact, your Recto will probably sound better at lower volumes than those.
