Does anyone own this amp?

I'm seriously thinking of ordering one ASAP based on what I've read & my e-mails with Nik from Ceriatone?

I have a 100watt Yeti. It's a beast.

How so?

I'm not looking for a mega distortion amp?

More of a versatile Marshall type sound. Kind of like a warmer more versatile plexi type tone.

I've also got a 100 and totally agree, it's a beast. It's as good as any modded Marshall that I've had from all of the big names. It's extremely versatile and you can definitely get that tone that you're looking for. It sounds killer set for low gain plexi tones to high gain mayhem and everything in between. The amp is also extremely quiet, even at band volumes. It's a ridiculous amount of amp for the cash, especially used. Do it man, do it.

Sounds great!!!!

Do you know of any used Yeti 50s anywhere?

Had one for a couple of years now. Its my favorite modded Marshall style amp. I have previous owned a JCM 800 2204 stock and modded, a JCM 800 2205, Splawn Quickrod (Early revision), later Splawn Quickrods, Splawn Modded Marshall 1987x, and A Splawn Nitro. It is a very fun amp that actually covers alot of ground musically. I have recorded several bands using it. This is one that a band that used it at the beginning of the year

I'm looking at this as well. Or a Chupacabra. My understanding is that the Chup has more gain but the Yeti is tighter? Can anyone confirm?

I'm not sure on that, I thought I had read on various forums that they are very close to the same amp but the yeti was not as bright as the chupa, a darker version?

Never played a yeti but I had a 100 watt Chupacabra 4 years ago and it was a stellar high gain "modded marshall".
Awesome build, gobs of gain but my only complaint was that it had a little more hiss than I'd like at higher gain settings and the loop did not work well at all with any of my delay pedals. You can buy a Ceriatone Loopalator? that is suppose to make them workable.

Edit; I've read here that the newer ones are very quiet under high gain!

Yes, this is what Nik told me.

The Yeti has less gain, is a bit warmer & has tighter bass.

Sounds like the perfect amp for me.

The Yeti may have less gain than the Chupacabra, but it still has a ridiculous amout of gain. More than you'll need.

is it still capable of getting decent VH & vintage type plexi tones?

My worry is that it may be too hot rodded & modern an amp.

Yes, easily. It can cop just about any Marshall tone. Very versatile amp. I'll never sell mine. It's too useful.

Done!!! I'm ordering mine tomorrow.

Anyone know if the diode clipping circuit overdrive is always on with these new ones or can it be switched over for tube only overdrive?
I know on my older chupacabra the diode overdrive was only off and getting all of it's drive from preamp tubes on the plexi channel setting and then you had to really crank it up SUPER loud to get overdrive in the plexi channel (like a real plexi).

Send Nik an e-mail & ask. He responds in minutes.

I agree 100%. Plexi to hot rodded high gain molten metal, it's in there. Amazing built quality also. Can't go wrong for the $$$.

What makes the loops so bad in these? I hear that a lot about Ceriatone and the only reason I would be hesitant to buy one. Can you swap in a Metro zero loss loop without much hassle? I have a Ceriatone Expression and the build quality is great, but that model does not have a loop.

I'd love to grab a Son Of Yeti combo, but I need a decent loop.

Yeti is a darker version of the Chupacabra. To my ears, the Yeti sounds better stand-alone but I love my Chupacabra 50 in a band mix. YMMV.
