My options are always open, and the thought of going after a Ceriatone Yeti 100 is fresh on the brain. Would any current/previous owners like to chime in?

Also, wondering what shipping costs are like and also wondering what the deal is with customs and tax???

Thanks!

had the 50 watt chupacabra, loved it, yeti sounds more like me. shipping is on the website $150ish? i had to pay about $25 in customs to pick it up at ups.

Yeti is voiced a little darker and more "modern" than the Chupacabra. I have a Chupacabra 50 and would love to have a Yeti, but would be afraid it wouldn't cut as well. Both sound awesome; it just comes down to personal preference and what works best for you.

When I emailed Nik about the Chupa and Yeti, he had this to say:

The Yeti is more the classic one, ie you can clean it up more for the plexi
sounds. It's slightly less gain as well, and slightly darker than chupa,
although not much

I have a 50 watt Yeti and it's a fantastic single channel amp. Sounds really good at low volumes too! Can do classic rock to super heavy tones without any issues. The effects loop is crap however. It's non-buffered tone sucker....but i can overlook that cause the amp base tone is fantastic.

I thought the Yeti had more gain? Or are you talking about the while the amp is in "Plexi mode"?

All the clips I've heard of the Yeti have less emphasis on the upper mids and more of a bassy/scooped sound. However, go with what Nik says -- he's the man and has never steered me wrong.

I thought the same thing before he emailed me that.

After emailing Nic I got the following...

"The yeti can surely clean up, with the change on the dials and switches We will offer a channel switching yeti type soon, as well, if you can wait The chupa is brighter, and is a bit gainier than the Yeti, but it can clean up as well Tight wise, I don't think these can be termed as so, in the realm of modern hi gain amps. They do compress, but they distort very well. It is, after all, the 80s type of rock/metal sounds."

Also, a footswitching Yeti will be available around March, according to Nik.

That's probably due to how people have EQ'd the amps in the clips they make. The Yeit/Chupa have 99% the same circuit. And the components that differ between them aren't going to change the mid-range at all. Either amp has tons of raunchy, mean, aggressive upper-mids.

I have a CCV now, but the Chupa I had was awesome. More of a Marshall sound compared to the CCV. Wish I still had the Chupa. It was a sweet amp. I'm gonna keep my eyes peeled for the new channel switcher version.

I have an AFD #35 and that amp SLAYS!!! Like the Chupacabra 50 Plexi mode on channel 1 and when you kick in the AFD CHANNEL holy lord!!! The gain on tap and the tone-shaping options are off the charts. That amp puts a smile on my face every time I play it. I didn't know if I would like the amp, and originally I was a little disappointed, but after speaking with Nik and adjusting the internal trim pots, that amp sounds downright raunchy. Love it! Ceriatone fan for life!!

Sounds like it's killer! Maybe I should look into one...you got any clips??

There's a used chupa on the bay for $750 buy it now , can't go wrong at that price.

Are you just looking to downsize? I can't see it being better than your Cameron. You may be buying yourself a few books of tickets to get on the Merry Go Round  I hate that ride. Its expensive too

Not sure what I'm looking to do  Ideally I was selling the Cameron to get more versatility out of another amp, even though I absolutely love the tone of my Cameron. I considered the Yeti because I dig the tone, the features, and I know they are Cameron-inspired mods (from what I have heard Mark handed a lot of the mods over to Nik). Even though the Yeti is a single channel as well, at least it has various modes to explore. Plus, the Yetis are coming out as channel switchers in a couple months, making it more valuable to me...in a sense.

I'm trying to find an all around excellent amp...hard rock and modern voiced (dark voicing) "metal" territory. Not rediculously brutal metal...but more like AIC to Down to Mastodon to Lamb of God...I need an amp that is tight, responsive, can handle the low end, and cuts in the mix. But not too dry and tight so that is feels lifeless...and I need the amp to answer the call when I get the itch to go gnarly...16th notes and quick note runs...

HELP!

Here is a link to my old band's material to give an idea of the amount of "metal" I will get into...

I typically love channel switching amps, but with the Chupacabra 50 and a volume pedal I've never felt like I was missing anything. Cleans up nicely (especially in Plexi mode) and brings it home when dimed!

I'll try and get some up in the next couple of days.

What did Nick say the footswitch will all do on the Yeti? Just change the ERA switch or will it have a clean channel also?

If the loop is no good, wouldn't it be easy to drop in a Metro loop?
