ok, so I decided against the maple top. to get the maple top, and different beveled layers, it is hard to make the colors look good the maple top is 250 extra, the different beveled color layers is an extra 220, and adding the black would have been 30 or 40 more. and black or natural black I think was another 100.

so I decided to get:
-aries 899
-pearl blue +80, diamond white +80, or white/white no upcharge
-reverse headstock +40
-stainless steel frets +40
-ebony fretboard, all black no streaking +40
-Floyd rose +150
-black hardware +30
-matching headstock +40
-case +60
- $100 discount , total is $1279 with case, that's a good deal for a new guitar with all these options!!

so here are the 3 colors I have it narrowed down to, a pearl blue and diamond white, and classic white, what color would you choose, remember the headstock will match the body.

-also, the colors can be in a satin or gloss, which color, with which finish?

Black.

However what I would really do (if possible) is make the blue burst come out farther to where the tan stripe is at the edge of the guitar so there was no walnut showing on the top at all but that's just me.

I don't care for a flame top on that model at all. Looks weird with top only covering 2/3 of top. IMO, would look way better with solid color and would save you a lot of money.

That's what I was trying to say in my reply as well. I do like the top however, I would just have him cover the whole top instead of 2/3.

you could keep the blue going to the edge, but it would look weird because the maple top ends where it is beveled. I thought about getting a solid color, possibly blue mist metallic, but when you look at all the pics, it is never the same, sometimes it looks like there is more green in it, others more blue, so you aren't entirely sure what color the guitar you get it going to be.

I would just not buy a Kiesel. Save yourself the potential flaws and frustrations of dealing with a company with an increasingly bad track record and such shady individuals working for them.

That's all bullshit. I haven't heard anything but good things about the new Kiesel branding and I bought a brand new Kiesel Aries build, along with a used Aries myself and I'm very happy with both. And, I also agree about that particular model looking best in a solid color, which both of mine are. But, it'll be your guitar, so if you want a nice top on it, go for it.

There was a hate thread on SSO where someone ordered a color match that ended up no where close and Keisel's initial response was less than stellar. Maybe that's what Guillotine is getting at.

They seem to screw up one-off orders with relative frequency, so if you go off menu be ready for something to be not quite right. But I think if you stick with whatever they consider standard options you'll be fine.

I don't mind that model in solid colors but with maple tops, that bevel is just not my thing.

But to the OP's question: if you like that darker color, just order walnut or ask if they can finish the alder to something a bit darker than natural.

To be honest I don't understand this fascination for these kind of finishes... I don't think there is a color that could save it.

Nothing is going on with them. The comment is bullshit.

The issue that was reported by a customer who recently requested a one off was that the finish he used as a sample was on a different wood than what he ordered. Transparent colors will look different from wood to wood. You have to know there's a chance it won't look the same. That said, I think Kiesel missed the boat completely on that one. Now, I'm no Kiesel fan-boi but I do own two. The idea that they have an "increasingly bad" track record is just stupid.

There's no builder like them right now. I'm saying that as a Suhr lover. No one gives you the options they can at this price point. Just be careful with what you order if it's that "outside".

Is that an original Floyd? $150 seems cheap for an OFR..

No not really. They don't mark these up and they buy in bulk. They sell retail for 200.00

Pearl white or radiation green.

I just looked at the radiation green, its cool. I didn't even know they had that color.

Of those three, I'd vote diamond white. Should be a cool guitar.

I didn't notice a locking nut on your option list. It must be specified even if ordering a Floyd. Don't want you to get a Floyded guitar with no locking nut.

I got the locking nut, and you are right, it has to be specified!!they charge you an additional 30 bucks for it.
