Yeah, if this turns out to be true it obviously won´t be a LP clone like an Edwards or what not, but a singlecut that may or may not be similar.

Since Gibson owns Valley Arts, I guess respecting the other company´s bodyshapes is a moot point by now. But again, it probably won´t be close enough for a lawsuit anyhow. Take a look at this, it´s kinda murky and hard to tell, but it definitely looks like some sort of singlecut with a little extra cut on top, and I wouldn´t be surprised to see them revamp this into a Charvel instead; https://www.youtube.com/watch?gl=US&v=gvxZPNjn0Zo

But why it should be a Charvel instead of a Jackson makes little sense, unless they simply want to connect it to the good buzz around the japanese Pro Mods. There´s a lot more praise being sung around those than the japanese Jacksons, that´s for sure.

that's pretty cool...sort of like the PC archtop meets an SG meets an old Chris Squire bass. I can't see that ever really making it into major production though. Is that the plan?

if its an LP with a floyd and access to the upper frets, i'd be down.

I "put up" with the issues I have with Les Pauls (heavy, awkward to play due to body shape) because nothing sounds like a Les Paul! Otherwise, I use Strat shaped guitars. Why would I want a Charvel Les Paul shaped guitar, aside from the coolness factor?

call me weird, but i'm the opposite. lp's feel normal to me and strats feel weird.

Well, I´m sure it was intended to go into production as a new PC model, but either it´s been dropped or they´re going through some more prototyping. There hasn´t been a single word spoken about it yet, other than that little film. I mainly brought it up to show what could potentially be going on with a Jackson/Charvel singlecut, rather than it being another Les Paul.

Why can't we just have a Charvel that sounds like a Les Paul?

wonder what the actual mark up is on a lp? gibson really disgusts me anymore. definately a love/hate relationship between me an gibson.

...because it would probably be called a Jackson due to the fact that it would be either set or neck thru. There have already been Jackson Les Pauls, Firebirds, Explorers, Vs.... Hell, there have been Charvel versions of some of them as well, but usually bolt on. That will not sound the same as a set neck, Gibson construction...even if made of the same woods.

I didnt see anything from NAMM about Charvel.Did anyone see anything from them at the show? Was curious about this single cut thing...

I heard Charvel simply didn´t get ready in time for NAMM, and that they´re doing their own reveal later on. Sounds like they do have something new coming out, judging from that.

I've wanted a charvel for a long time, basically the cantrell sig but...Not lol
Due to it's sig'ness

I would love to check out a charvel designed around the les paul body, my only issue is that I love binding on both sides of the body like the LPC's all have, as far as I know it's aesthetic but I've grown to love it and want it on any lp guitar that that I own, yes i know this is retarded lol

Some of those warriors in the classifieds are unfkinreal looking! So are those mcnaughts steve k posted. I guess I'll have to find a shop that carries any or all of these and try one out in person.

But...it's made in Japan! Without "USA" on the headstock, fail in my book!
