Charvel guru needed

Are Fender strat (floyd rose cut) and Charvel So Cal pickguards interchangeable?

Not without some tweaking. I have seen where the holes are very close, but not exact. Some have claimed that they got all the holes lined up by doing each screw in stages.

The body route will not accommodate a slanted single in the bridge, or the standard strat pot layout. Also, the neck cutout will have to be trimmed to accept the wider Charvel neck.

I do believe there are at least a couple of places who now offer So Cal guards.

Sorry. I just saw this thread. I don't check this new forum much because I think all "gear" talk belongs on the main page. The neck pocket for sure will not be a direct swap. The Charvel pickguard will NOT work on the strat. The neck pocket opening will be too large on the Charvel and will not look very good. The Fender pickguard will need to be opened up in the neck pocket width in order to fit on the Charvel. This is at least doable. My suggestion would be to spend about $40 on a Pickguardian pickguard for the Charvel.

Get a dremmel and you'll be all set to modify a floyd cut fender PG. I just put a H/S/S PG on my so cal and besides the neck pocket, it's a direct fit.

Here is the deal. I was very concerned about the lower horn and lower body shape not lining up quite right. I have ordered a Musikraft Charvel body. It has a Fender sized neck pocket. So it sounds like a Fender (or warmoth) pickguard should work as the only fit issues appear to be in the neck pocket area. Thanks for your help.

Sorry for the necro-bump but I'm looking at buying a black style 2 one, wanna put a black 3 ply tele pickguard on it. Is there anyone that sells one that will fit or am I best off just getting a warmth-type and opening up the neck cutout a bit?
