Anyone here play one of these? I just saw the youtube video on them and it got me gasin' for one lol . I have a charvel style 1 and am in love with the neck on it. I have had some small issues with it but nothing serious. Im guessing the natural series will have a little bit better quality to them as to the usa production models. Just curious on what you think of these axe's , thanks.

I have a Koa/Birdseye Maple Natural Series Charvel from the Music Zoo. I love it! Very nice quality and the Charvel necks are awesome!

Since I took these pics, I changed out the volume pot to a RS Guitarworks 500k Super Pot, installed a brass Floyd block, Seymour Distortion (Zebra) in the bridge and a Seymour Little 59 in the neck.

I just got the chance to play my first charvel today. Very good quality for the money. I usually don't buy and play guitars unless they have rosewood or ebony necks but these Charvels are very cool. I will be buying one for sure now.
I played the So-cal ferrari red with the black pick guard. Only one the store had. I am sure the quality will be killer on the guitars from Music zoo. I have always heard good things about them.

I love the look of the natural finish.I have been eyeing them up for awhile.

 Where would a guy buy parts for the charvels? Like trim rings for the pick ups and stuff like that?

tnourse - Niicce axe man ! that is the same exact one I have been eyeballing ... I love the koa with the birdseye maple , absolutely stunning to look at  Im sure it plays like it dream too. I will most likely be snagging one just like that in the near future, Thanks for the pics :)

Just sold one like in the pic, Koa w/ birdseye. Really cool guitar, but if you want the best Charvels, then stay from the year 1986 and earlier. There are exceptions these days, and some of them are super cool (ie- Tele body Charvel and 2007 Custom shop Ghost Flames), but all in all, the vintage ones always seem to play the best. Not downing the new stuff though, I do like quite a bit of it.

I think what you meant to say was stay away from the year 1986 or later. I don't know. LIke I keep posting when stuff like this comes up. I know old Charvels well, real well. Here was part of my collection at one time. In this you'll see the famous "Redrum" guitar. You'll see a black with green and yellow hot rod flames that I got from George Lynch and on the top right you'll see the black single hum that Rowan Robertson used on the the Dio "lock up the Wolves" album. I had some extremely cool old Charvels and was well known within the community of collectors.

I do not post this to brag. I post this to qualify my opinion. The new Charvel Custom Shop guitars are EVERY bit as good as the older ones and even more importantly, the newer ones are more consistent tone-wise. The old ones were all over the map in terms of tone. They almost ALL played amazingly but I onwed a lot of dogs tone wise and a huge chunk of them had Kahlers on them

Yeah, you are right, I meant I like the ones before 1986 the best. You're also right about the new custom shops. They're really cool. Hell, I love my production 2008 tele body Charvel. It plays like a dream! I need to connect you with this other collector I know that goes by Andy Cain. You may already know him. He's got tons of vintage Jacksons and Charvels. Your collection rocks!

That's an old collection of mine. I only have two original Charvels and I have three of the new Charvel USA Production model guitars. At one point I was saving for a car that I always wanted and thinking it was going to take forever to get it. Then I started to look at those Charvels and admitted that I had two clear favorites that I always chose for gigs and recording and that between the rest of them I had that car I wanted just hanging on the wall. :D So a lot of collectors increased their collections shortly after that.

me too
I still can't tell the difference between a charvel and an ibanez...

Just get a usa production charvel, sand off the paint and you have a natural series charvel

How do you get from The Bronx Zoo to Yankee Stadium by subway? I'm taking my girlfriend to the Yankee-Redsox game. We decided to make a day out of it by going to the Bronx Zoo for a few hours. We already know the 2 train goes from Penn Station (for i'm taking a train to NYC) to the Zoo...but how would i get from the Zoo to Yankee Stadium by subway?

I love the looks of the Music Zoo Naturals...but then I'm kind of a sucker for Koa bodies with Natural finishes, so I'm a little biased... ;)
