I know there's a bunch of Charvel/Jackson fans in here, just wanted to check on my Pagan Gold Pro-Mod from the USA run.

Chervil website says it should have a 3D neckplate and 6-digit serial number, under "Production USA Charvel Neck Plate" ?

http://www.usacharvels.com/id/pg01.htm

Always assumed my neck plate looks the real deal (and matches "New 3D Charvel Plates") but Serial only has 4 digits, like so:

I may be wrong but I think my green one I used to own was a similar deal... just call the fender HQ and verify the # if you're worried!

The serial # is in right range (I think) but I gave up after sitting on hold on Fender Customer Service :-/

This doesn't look right. The USA pagan gold Charvel guitar came out during 3rd batch of the USA production run. There should be 6 digits serial number on the neck plate that should be something like 00xxxx. The 3rd batch should have serial numbers in the range of 003000 to 004000. Only the custom shop has a 4 digits serial number on the neck plate.

Fender say it's exactly as it should be for this guitar, the buyer actually called them..go figure :-)

Batch date and everything is OK, this guitar was produced, in this color for the run in Dec 2008.

I was nervous, since there's no way I'd sell a guitar that might be suspect.

My plum USA SC1 has a 6 digit number...my pointy reissue has a 4 just like yours. Does seem odd..

There could be another explanation for this. I've heard that the very early USA production run Charvel guitars were made in the custom shop before they transition it to the full production line. Maybe this guitar could be the very few early USA production model that were made in the custom shop. I have 8 USA Charvel guitars and they all came with 00xxxx serial number on the neck plate.

Yeah, 4 digits means custom shop, 6 is production. Seems like an odd plate on a Pro-Mod, but strange things happen..
