Hi, guys, I was wondering if anyone had a Charvel Pro Mod? They're just under £600 over here and wondering what the quality's like? Do the Floyds stay in tune?

Cheers!

Mike

I have two and they are perfect for fit and finish.

They hold tuning very well, as good as anything else available. Everyone I know whose played mine says they love it.

Probably the best guitar you can get for £600. They sound loads better than similar prized ibanez/Jackson guitars. Very resonant!

Fretwork is amazing!

I say go for it!

P.s I think the Japan ones play a bit better than the USA ones!

Is this the new MIM promod? I haven't tried the new MIM promods, but the MIJ were killer guitars. I've owned a bunch of American and custom shop models, and the first mij pro mod I got has been one of the best playing and sounding of all of them.

I have the MIJ SoCal and it kicks ass!!! Plays great, sounds great, and stays in tune. I upgraded mine though with a big brass block and Motor City Pickups!!!

Cool, great to hear because I'm wanting a Strat style guitar with a bit of flash haha. The blue one with black pickguard is my fav at the moment!

My setup that gets 90+% of my playing time:

This is a MIJ So Cal that I picked up last fall. It's not an exaggeration to say that the Charvel has changed how I approach playing guitar. I'd not had a shredder since I sold my RG 550 in 1990, and this guitar is a far better instrument than the old Ibanez was. I've done a couple minor things, such as adding a push/pull coil splitter in the volume knob, and putting an FU Brass block on the trem (still not sold on this change).

The Floyd has been the biggest change for me after years of Strat trems - a trem that stays in tune! The stock Dimarzios are very good, although I will probably change the neck pickup at some point. The neck is straight, smooth, and fast. I've begun to wear the finish off of the neck, so it's getting a bit of a patina to it.

I've not yet played an MIM version, but I've played 3 different MIJ's, and all of them have been outstanding instruments.

Haha, gotta love the sc blue. Upgraded mine with bk aftermaths and a brass block too. Great stock, but awesome platform for simple upgrades.

I love my MIJ So-Cal!

Only issue I have had is the string tree thing keeps popping out. I put it back in with wood filler, but I think I will have to do it again.

Well, that and it is not a 7 string ;)

MIJ with MCP Angel Dust (A2) and Brass Block. Great playing and sounding guitar!!!

Love my MIJ. Lot of guitar for the money, great neck, great bridge.
