So, I got bored a couple of weeks ago and deceided to relic my old import Charvel model 3 or 4? It was my main axe for years but it eventually ended up stripped for parts and buried under a bunch of crap in a closet. While I was in there, I found an old warmoth neck I thought I sold and figured, wtf   First of all, never in a million years could one of these things end up looking like a relic. It must have had an inch of poly on it or whatever the hell the used to finish them. Anyway, I got a little carried away with the orbital sander and fucked it up real good  I went to work on it tonight and applied some "age" to it and it's starting to look kinda cool. I suppose if it turns out bad, I'll strip it down and paint it hot rod-flat black  I have most of the parts to assemble it except a floyd, so this should turn out to be cheap deal...

Thats what I would do as well. From what I see of the wood it would look awesome.

The model 2 body I have didn't look that good at all. I got it down to the bare wood and it was ugly and I realized why they put a solid finish on it...

If I didn't already have a natural finished guitar, I probably would. Besides, I'm willing to bet that this is a 3-piece body or a 2-piece with an off center line. If I strip it, I'll repaint it. For now, I'm gonna move forward and put a single-hum pickgaurd on it.

You need to look at some real vintage guitars with real wear... don't see too many with most of the paint worn evenly off the top horn like that.
