Yeah it's one of those things that is either a cute birthmark or a huge hairy mole for some but overall nothing that has put me off. The builds overall are nicer than your standard Fender stuff and offer smoother and sleeker bodies/edges/corners and nicer necks too. Thinner paint finishes too and paper thin pretty much.

For the money can't complain when it comes to the important things. And the important things comes first like good feel, fast and comfortable satin finished neck, rolled fingerboard, dual graphite rods for added tuning stability, decent hardware, good pups and sound and in those departments for the money can't really complain.


Some even get hand me down quartersawn necks that didn't cut it for the EVH line pretty much. Even so quartersawn or not the necks are smooth as hell IMO and like in between a 59 LP type neck and a Wizard lll IMO. So it's got that skinny shredders feel but with some fat in the right places where it counts. Nice, fast and comfy.

Dude, I have a MIM San Dimas and it's my main player.......and it has the correctly aligned logo :ROFLMAO:

Yeah double take on mine and both are normal in that regard too, dudes could pick out some with a straight logo for stock photos next time :LOL:

Honestly these in the wild look amazing and not much of a maple guy but don't mind satin maple boards after my Snow White San Dimas to be honest..... always thought I hated maple but I hated glossed maple..... I actually love maple I've come to realize just satin on boards and no Gloss and crap.


Pelham Green...... pretty much like a Sherwood Green.....

Oh yeah, nothing wrong with the MIM. In a interview Jim said that he wanted his guitars to stay around $1500.
I wanted His white Charvel for a while now :cool:

I have the white model of this I got last year. Fantastic playing guitar!
 
I'm just going to say....... I miss Bobby.......



When I was going to college, Bobby was an older guy in his 70s...... everytime I studied and went to the coffee shop.... or asked for a smoke..... he was there..... If I needed an extra dollar to get coffee or a sandwich Bobby was there for me even though he was homeless......


If I ever had a dollar or cigarette to spare Bobby was going to get it first in line as anyone in my Family, Brother or otherwise in line just the same..... Bobby was the best Bass Player in OC and SoCal......... he won a GC battle of the bands in front of BB King...... BB King voted for Bobby and his band to win just so he could play with Bobby.... he always called the other kids assclowns and only wanted to play with someone like me.........




One of the things I regret is not taking more time with Bobby and playing with him in the pandemic and he was such a great person and guy....... the main thing I regret is not being there for him........when he passed away...... Because Bobby always made a point about when I played in Fullerton....... and others would ask to play with me on stage and I always said no....... But I could never deny Bobby....... and his skills on bass and guitar in general.......




It's hard to put into words but people like Bobby don't come by every often and BB King didn't just vote for him at the GC Battle of the Bands to play with him either or to give him a prize......Bobby was one of a kind......He laid it down as it was supposed to like not even the guitar player would know how and there may be other like him but far few in-between IMO.



I always regret not playing with Bobby more when I could or not reaching out during the pandemic........ honestly........ I regret not being there for him if he needed me or needed help of me or anyone else...... but damn......




All I can say is I miss Bobby and well players and bass players like that done come often anywhere or from anyplace not now or 100 years....... People like Bobby are special and I sure appreciate people like that and wish I spent more time with him when he was here...... I wish I could just be there for him when he needed me as much as he was there for me........

So, are you buying one of these @The~Kid ?
That red matte one is pretty sharp looking.
Would be cool with an ebony fingerboard and no inlays.

Yeah that's the plan just saving up now. These should be in stock kind of glad I skipped out on the last ones that were Metallic Lime Green and Miami Blue for these.

They actually come in ebony and I do like simple dots. Was thinking if getting the Gold one as the clear winner but seeing it is glossed now kind of turned be over to the Red as it is satin and prefer satin. The Red also is a lot darker than I expected to look like and it's sort of as dark as CAR but without the sparkle.


Still leaning Gold but yeah just wish it was satin but thinking of going Gold but yeah that Red looks sweet and the satin finish on these bodies feel great from the Burgundy Mist I have. Most I would do to either is just change the knobs to Fender ones and that's about it.


Dang I guess they went back to Rosewood on these......... my old Burdundy Mist is Ebony....... either way noice ^_^
 
Yeah @NowYou'rePlayingWithPower these aren't Ebony and are Rosewood..... used to come with Ebony with CITES or whatever but I figured that must have changed or not sure.


It was nice because Ebony used to be or still is a "higher tier" in the ladder of materials for fingerboards...... then Rosewood became higher..... now Rosewood is back to meh or whatever........


Whatever, I see they are only using Ebony for models that cost more now like the Sassafras or MJ and some Sig models like the Jim Root or the San Dimas Plus models too sport Ebony. Rosewood is used on standard San Dimas again.

Take back the Shoreline Gold comment and it's really more like an Aztec Gold and the Satin Ferrari Red is like a Fire Engine Red and probably my fave Red and my fave Gold.......



Pretty much Charvels version on those colors and on Super Strats instead of Fenders......


A real nosebleed with either one *_*
