Cheap Delay pedal

I went looking for an inexpensive delay pedal to put in the loop of my DSL40CR.

First thought was Boss DD-3T, DD-8 or DM-2W,...

Then I found a NUX Time Core Deluxe MKII. $99

Good luck! Every nux prdal I have tried sounded like crap. I can make about anything sound good and the 4 pedals I messed with were junk.

There are so many nice pedals made in the western hemisphere I refuse to buy cheap crap for my signal chain but I suppose on the plus side it's a cheap way to decide if a given effect will work with your rig. I discovered doubling using a real pos movall falling star delay japetus sent me (long story) but I had to buy something quality to use with my live rig because the noise floor was too high.

I loved this pedal. The EP1 setting sent me down a rabbit hole of tape delay. On top of that, with the TonePrint feature, you can make it sound like whatever you want. Plus it's under $100.

I am sure you looked this up but those Falling Stars are just the cheap copies of the EH Deluxe Memory man, or a Keeley Mag Echo. I forgot, which delay did you end up going with?

I didn't see that part. It was really noisy with a full volume rig but strangely the pedal had amazingly consistent smooth taper pots so I'd guess the noise issue is from cheapness in the gut circuitry plus it had a digital delay section no bueno. I got spaceman meridian and passed the falling star along to a worthy party for the same price I got it 4.

Yeah that pedal had some noise for sure, I actually loved the sounds it could make but dealing with that hum especially live or even a live jam, is a non starter.
