DSL40C, NOT the R version. Install creambck 65. Done for $500. Creambacks turn DSLs into amazing amps. Not sure why, but they just kill together. Hated both until I tried them together. They just match perfectly for some weird reason. All the shitty frequencies of both are cured when they are paired.

This is actually a great choice if you want more of a hot rodded JCM800 kind of tone. I had this combo and even the stock speaker which was a 70/80 I believe sounded pretty good. I ran it into 4x12’s. It recorded very well. Definitely the 40 C and not the CR. Someone a while back was selling a head conversion of one these in the classifieds, which would have been an awesome choice. If I didn’t have Marshall covered up the wahzoo, I would have got it.
