I'm hooked on Elixir nanoweb strings, but they're expensive. Does anyone know the cheapest place to buy them?

What? Gibson.com? I don't think I even saw strings on that site. Best price I found was 8.99 ea from juststrings.com , they have them now for $9.13 each. Plenty of places on ebay at $19.99 for two pack free shipping. Pro audio star has even better deal on 3 packs at $23.98....Anyone found a better deal?

I went to Guitar Center two days ago and paid $8 a pack for a box. Buy a box and you can get that deal pretty much anywhere...

What's the biggest difference between them and regular Ernie Ball slinky?

I don't mind paying the price for the Elixir's. I can leave them on my guitars for months. My hands eat regular strings in a week or less.

Do you sweat acid? I'd be pissed if strings only lasted a week for me!

They feel sleek/smooth. Sound fresh for waaaay longer than other strings & never rust, blacken corrode etc.

I love Elixir strings. They are expensive, but they are totally worth it. Save a lot of money and time in the end. The only issue I have with them is they can be too bright sounding, especially on acoustic. They sound great on my Washburn acoustic (it's a dark sounding guitar), but that guitar is in my Father's possession back in Illinois. A bit too bright on my Breedlove, but they last so long.

I'd love to find a cheaper place to buy them. I was just looking to buy some in bulk last week, and didn't find any good deals.

When I played out a lot 15 years ago I went through a pack a week, we usually did 3-5 gigs a week. But back then everyone in the bar smoked which probably didn't help.

I guess. Regular plain strings turn darker in color and loose their smoothness in less than a week with me. They end up grabbing my fingers.

Elixirs I can leave on for months.
