If you like melodic, rock, with a twist of classic rock, you'll probably like this. It's a pretty diverse record.

I like your singer. He reminds me of Scott Weiland's voice off the first STP CD.

I concur, dig the vocalist.. I always say that is the make or break of any band! Production sounds tight as well. Did you guys do this yourself or did you go into a studio?

We used a studio. Did the record in about 3 months. We actually have two singers, but yeah, the 'main' lead singer does have a Weiland-esque thing happening.

It doesn't really fit my own personal taste but I can appreciate the talent and work that went into it. I do like the guitar tone.

I know this guy in his 50s who plays old country and he swears by JCM 800's. He owns like 12 of them. haha.

I use my 101b and sometimes my Dual Rec for my country gig.

If you listen to this record though, the guitar tones are really solid 'big' rock tones. We definitely weren't going for a metal thing. When you crank this up, it really does sound huge.

Bought it on iTunes, only had chance to listen once so far though....

it's a little more 'mainstream rock' oriented than the heavier stuff I usually listen to but has really solid tone and I gotta say I'm a big fan of the vocals.

Yeah, definitely mainstream. . .but as you get deeper into the album, there are songs like "The Son (I'll Be)" and others that are a little more obscure. But, yes, for the most part, we are very straight forward rock and roll.

Sounds like you put a lot of work into this project... so good for you guys.

I hate to criticize someone else's artistic endeavors, but.... I would definitely have a talk with your singer. He can obviously sing, but he should really attempt to develop his own voice instead of trying to parody other people. On "Look Away" he sounds like the worst of Scott Stapp doing a bad Eddie Vedder impression. Influence is one thing ... parody is another.

He sounds much better in the moments when he is staying away from that kind of thing. When I listened to his singing on some of the tracks, I thought of this:

Overall, the band sounds good though. Respect for putting in the effort to write and record rock music in today's musical climate.

We have two singers in the band, so that's one reason why the voices sound different now and then. It's not so much an impersonation as it is just another vocal tone. But, yes I've always heard a little of what you're saying, and as a general rule, I push them to let go of that and sing naturally. I agree the best of the material is when they're being themselves. That being said, Look Away is a great song, and the album as a whole is really strong and has been getting some great feedback.

A little background on us. . . we were signed and on the radio nationwide in 2006. Toured with Candlebox, and did a slew of 'radio festivals' across the country. We even had the #1 song on KCAL in Riverside, CA for two weeks. It was a great ride while it lasted, but things disintegrated after a year of touring, and we ended up being dormant for a few years. Things started taking shape again a few years ago, and this album is the result.

That is a great tip for any vocalists out there.. I have written a bunch of tunes and dabbled in singing. Everytime i try to sing, depending on the feel of the song, I find myself naturally copping the tone of guys i love. Two problems with that.. 1. I don't naturally have that tone. 2. I strain to produce it. Developing your own voice is important. Unfortunately you can take all the singing lessons in the world and improve, but at the end of the day, you have the "tone" in your voice or you do not. Like an instrument. you like rosewood boards or you prefer maple. I wish I had a voice like Ray Gillen did but alas, I do not. .. doubt I'd ever find someone locally to even come close to that either.
