I would think you would want the rail part underneath the bottom strings so when you do those bends you are never off a pole. Seems like it should be reversed.

That's what I was thinking.
Neat idea though.

Rails tend to be brighter and tighter in general compared to slugs, fillisters, hex screws and individual magnets (like strat pickups use) so I get the thinking of putting them under the low strings and the slugs under the others to sort of balance out the tight/bright and warm/fat between the 6 strings. It's an interesting idea, curious to hear/see some reviews.

I hate to be THAT guy, but $99 for a Korean made pickup?

2 year warranty and 60 day trial, no bullshit IMHO. Could be kinda cool.

That and the actual ad from the link just doesn't sit well.

Looks cool.

I think the most interesting pickup was one that had evey other pole piece wound to two different output jacks. This way the string next to each other would be set up in stereo and played out of a different amp and cab. For example, the high E string would be wound to one jack and the B string would be wound to another jack. Then utilized and both strummed, their sound would come out of two different amps/sources. Nuts indeed

Wasn't that the Ripley? I remember the Ripley guitar having 6 pan pots on it to spread the sound. Cool idea, but too deep for me.

That railhammer is a Joe Naylor design. Like it or not the guy knows guitars and amps.

Interesting. Cool Idea, who's going to take the plunge and try some?

I think that was another Grateful Dead engineering approach to their bass rig too.

kinda looks like a solution in search of a problem to me...
