I know, but even then we're all stuck on the same planet for the time being. If people want to be angry, that's fine, but people shouldn't probably make stuff up to be angry about. Not saying that's what everyone is doing, but there is some going on.
Thumbpicker is constantly trying to prove that Australia is the superior country and in this instance even he knows he lost so yeah, he's pissed.

Dude this thread and your responses I’ve read just in the last 5 minutes is the epitome of believing any bullshit you are fed. Confirmation bias fed by your TDS. And more specifically your US DS.
Nothing I said was bullshit - if you believe otherwise there is something wrong with you.

This also confirms what I said:

You blocked our beef. We should hit you with ten percent tariffs and block your lamb exports too. You pretend like you have a free trade agreement then apply other standards to American exports. Now you will pay!!!
We have blocked it to keep diseases out because we don't have them here being isolated. That would ruin our cattle exports to other countries that demand disease free beef. That is perfectly reasonable and is covered under the free trade agreement.

You just carry on like an uninformed and unreasonable imbecile. The US also has biosecurity laws. There is a reason for them.

Also being a huge country with a smaller population we don't need your beef. We already produce plenty of it and export it to many countries. What we don't have is the economies of scale for major manufacturing. So that's what we import from you.

I'm not concerned with your opinions on it, only that my income taxes are paid through tariffs against Australia. It doesn't mean I don't love you though.

You may not end up with income taxes but you will have a consumpton tax through higher prices via these tariffs.

The rich will benefit from that big time - it'll be people like you that pay more relative to their lower income. A rich man can only consume so much.

I don't buy Australian products so it's a win-win for me. I will benefit by having income taxes reduced or eliminated altogether. Taxes hurt the little people.

Thumb is down $150k since liberation day so I kind of understand him being a bit salty.

It’s not just tariffs on Australia though, you’ll get higher prices on all sorts of things and if you eat McDonald’s you eat some Australian beef. They mix the fattier us beef with ours to get the fat percentage down. Ours is grass fed, yours is grain fed.

Do I eat McDonalds? That's for rich people bro.

Exactly the point though. He wants for us to continue enriching him (at our expense no less) but is angry when we no longer cater to foreign interests. This seems to be the general attitude of every non-American and a good deal of those on the far left.

Wrong again.

I have Australian shares not US shares. Our share market gets hammered because the US has targeted us and also because of the risk of a recession or depression in the US due to tariffs causing higher prices and inflation. There is an expression: When Wall Street sneezes the world catches cold. In this case Wall Street has sneezed due to Trump's volatile and hair brained schemes.

I approve of what he is doing. A return to tariffs as revenue instead of taxing citizens while putting foreign interests first is long overdue. Most of the targeted countries are not playing fairly. I guess you feel like you are caught in the crosshairs but I am optimistic about things getting ironed out soon unless you want to try and talk tough like the chinese.

Except he is not extreme right. Maybe by Australian standards. It roughly translates as “ I don’t like non white people living here and it wouldn’t bother me too much if people could own a Microtech UTX here legally. Possibly even a slingshot”.

Which makes me trust his opinions on finance, much less global economics, even less.
Most people that have ETF's aren't speculators. They are in it for the long term. So barring a a fucker like Trump who might collapse the entire financial system the share market goes up in the long term. A lot of people have their retirment savings in index funds like that. Also don't for a second think most superannuation fund managers haven't made massive losses over this as well. Including those managing superannuation in the US.

Also Accountants aren't generally day traders or brokers so you are confusing professions. However, I'm used to very confused people here so I'll give you leave pass.

Also I've had a gutful of your snark to me lately - so take your glock and shove it where it fits.

A) You started it homey. Frankly you’ve been saying things that offend me for a long time, I’ve just been keeping my mouth shut about it because I’m not an insufferable asshole. 😉

B) My wife is a CPA and a financial advisor/ fiduciary. That doesn’t mean I know anything, but I do know most of my portfolio is retirement shit and I’m gonna come out of this making money. You could too. If you’d quit bitching about shit you can’t control and start figuring out what’s on fire sale right now. 💁‍♂️
