Chiron 3.0

After a few years of feedback from the forumites ..... plus some inquiries about what I could actually do to the Klon circuit .

I have revised the Chiron to 3.0 .... being the third version I wanted to give it some features I don't really see on any other Klon clones plus a few that were requested .
I kept the clean and overdriven signals separate just like on my deluxe version ....

added a buffer on and off switch which actually makes it real true bypass ( not just by passing the buffer part of the circuit )

I took the treble mod ( freq ) switch and made it a rotary pot which you now have 8 different choices of treble freq ( thinner to thick )

and did the same to the bass part of the circuit involved in the overdrive signal so you have 8 choices there also to thin or thicken the bandwidth

last but not least you have two choices on clipping diodes ... germanium ( stock ) or LED ..... the Klon circuit sounds amazing with LED's

done on a light brown Matte sand finish ( the black ink reflects no matter how I try to take a pic )

with smooth aluminum barrel knobs

available to order !!

I put it front of my Mark V ... Mark III , Pittbull , Kali and a 800 .......... all with more than satisfying results .... this is hands down the best Over drive I have done ... the versatility is cool as hell . Incredibly clear .... quiet .... and powerful with some awesome fine tuning on tap
I think the multi-pos selectable bass and treble frequencies is genius if you want to avoid dealing with a separate EQ on a gigging board. To think that 20-some years ago I was thrilled when I scored a Visual Sound pedal that had a "bass boost" switch on the J&H just so I could thicken up a strat-marshall sound.

So does the bass frequency knob help you dial in for bass guitar?
Version 2.0 (the Chiron Deluxe) has the bass switch, and that was the secret sauce for bass. This one doesn't have the bass switch, so I don't know if it will fatten up the low end the same way.

To be fair though, I haven't tried the new one yet (obviously). My skepticism, though, comes because the Chiron Deluxe was so fucking good on bass. The bar is already set pretty high.

If you made this with the chugg graphic, i would be all over it
That could easily be done ....... all you got to to do is DM Uncle Waynzo ..... and order it

yes indeed sir ........ it's widening or narrowing the bandwidth spectrum of the bass response of the overdriven signal

The new Chiron 3.0 can be built to Chiron Deluxe ( bass switch engaged ) specs ....... it's just a simple swap in value on the input cap

Now my curiosity is piqued. I just got that cool hammered one on my board though.

I would get the bass input cap and keep it on my bass board, so that would be fine for me. Does the bass response widen it enough to cover the girth the bass switch passes though?

what I can do Bezo my man ..... is tailor the Bass Freq pot to cover more ground in the bass territory than the guitar .... basically I will tailor the values to hit a wider / thicker spectrum than I used for the guitar
