Chorus recommendations

I need some recommendations on a chorus unit for under $150.00.
 
What type of chorus are you looking for, digital, analog? I find chorus pedals to be very personal, what sounds good to one person, another one will hate it.

Here is what I would check out:

- Electro Harmonix Small Clone
- Ibanez BCL or BC-9 bimode chorus, Maxon would be fine too
- Ibanez CS-9 (I prefer the BC-9 though)
- Arion SCH-1
- Jacques Meistersinger

I have a Jacques meistersinger and a Maxon CS-9 pro. I prefer the Jacques, but they are both nice. I have owned a EH small clone, Ibanez CS-9, DSL Chorus-vib, and Ibanez BCL for reference.....
 
well, do you want it to sound like

The Cure?
Deftones?
Nirvana?


Personally, I like whatever's closest to my JC-120 head.

result thus far = Boss RCE-10 rackmount, digital chorus ensemble.

Thanks for the list. I wanted to have a good starting point. Not sure exactly what I am looking for. The only chorus I have ever used was a Boss.

I would have to listen to all back to back to get an idea. So far I have a bit to try out.
 
That new Digitech Chorus Factory for the money is damn good, nails that Roland 80s wet chorus as well.

+1, the chorus factory ROCKS. Plus it has a ton of options. Great pedal, it has a permanent place on my pedalboard.
 
Way over your price limit but the Redwitch Empress Chorus is one the best out there IMO.

I actually heard a clip of this and it looks pretty interesting. I am going to try one out.

Yes, I have come across that at Pedal Geek. I am going to look for clips. I will pay the extra if it blows me away. It's funny, I never knew Choruses could cost that much. I always thought Delay and Reverb were the only ones.
 
Well being old school my best chorus is my Leslie but it bigger than every pedal I have ever seen. My stage rig has a deluxe memory man which is a bit pricey but does echo also.
 
Try the old CE-1 or CE-2 (the blue one, made in Japan)... Awesome chorus.
 
if you dont need a pedal, check out the rockman stereo chrous. Also the BYOC Chorus is a modded Small Clone you might want to check that one out

The old CE-2 is one of my favorites. I had the Digitech Chorus factory but sold it. Too much crap going on and i feel it does a lot of things pretty good but nothing great. I'd rather just have a simple unit with one mode that sounds great.
