Didn't really see any of that here. And I agree Broderick wasn't spectacular either. But I thought for sure it was a parody at the beginning

I like how lynch stared at Chris playing and then says you want me to play after that :lol: :LOL:

Been there a lot. And mostly because my style is different than most people I am around :lol: :LOL:

Even though he has some great songs and was an 80's icon ish he style is different from Chris and lynch showed some normal human reaction without being a dick. He scored some cool factor with me :thumbsup:

I would like to try that thumb pick thing Chris has. For the clip, what a huge parallel difference between the two. Chris is all school and Lynch is well.....Lynch. I have to agree the tones from both are nothing to write home about but they pull it off extremely well :thumbsup: !

I like how people are over analyzing the tone in this video. You guys realize that it's just two guys sitting around, shooting the shit and talking guitar, not a live DVD or album recording right? Listen to pretty well any of these videos, none of them have good tone in them. Guy walk into a room and plug into whatever amp is kicking around I'm sure.

And I also thought I was being trolled at the beginning, but I am also not a George Lynch fan either.
 
Loved what George did here, and his tone through the EVH amp sounds fantastic! That's the most Ed-like tone I've ever heard with someone other than Ed playing one. Chris sounds like a computer, which is probably why the Axe Fx sound appeals to him.

I love this candid conversation. When I was a teenager, George Lynch was like Zeus... I lived on every lick and every song. I really haven't really liked anything he has done after the second Lynch Mob album... so hearing him talk about how he has evolved and struggled with fans accepting his evolution hit home. He always has been like "I don't know why everyone thinks I am great because I suck" - which is funny to me since he has some of the most iconic solo's and songwriting ever.

That groove...

:lol: :LOL: yeah thats pretty well it....its meant to be a meeting between 2 great guitar players from a different generation....storytelling...thats all. You want performance and tone go to a show or pull out a DVD. :doh:
 
I think it's a great video, two guys just talking about what they love to do, with mutual respect. What they played almost don't matter, it wasn't like it's planned or rehearsed.
 
I understand it was just two guys sitting around shooting the shit BUT.... I'd expect someone like Lynch to be able to pull off something somewhat musical and "decent" sounding even while noodling.
 
that's the thing about Lynch, he's inconsistent. I heard him at NAMM plugging into a Diezel whipping off great runs and cool lines. other times it sounded like he just learned how to play the guitar
 
I was at Lynch's Xmas party this past year and got to see his home studio and talk gear and stuff for a bit. He is actually a really genuine, cool guy. They had a jam of course and his playing was great.
 
George seemed like a very down to Earth, cool dude. Broderick seemed cool as well. Lynch's left hand seems like he has a disorder and can't feel the neck :lol: :LOL: …..But at the end of the day I'd rather listen to someone like Lynch fail half the time and play something really interesting the other half (OK, maybe 80/20) than someone like Broderick who's so mechanical and practiced. His technique is incredible but I don't listen to music much for technique. Cool vid.

Linked to another one with Marty Friedman and Ben Weinman? form Dillinger Escape Plan. That guy was smart and didn't bring a guitar…. :yes:
 
watched quite a few of these, very cool

How come they only show one of the 2 guitar players amps?
All of them only show one amp

Saw that one and thought the same thing. Looks like Friedman is of the same mind as lynch when it comes to recreating material from the past at 8:25. I think Weinman did better to come equipped with more questions than chops, though I'd love to see him cut loose.
