I have always loved music documentaries and this one looks like it will be pretty good!

I'm looking forward to this, WASP and their first album was on constant replay in my walkman when it came out - think I was in 5th grade lmao Saw them open for Maiden on the Powerslave tour at the old Summit here in Houston and that was awesome. Glad to see Chris is still around and doing well.

What am I missing? Did these guys ever make it big? Other than Chris having once loaned EVH a guitar, how is he famous? I can name exactly one WASP song and don't know how to hum it. We even have a WASP tribute band in Phoenix and I think the real WASP would probably be cheaper to hire for a gig. I live in an alternate universe.

The only things I know about Chris Holmes are his depressing pool interview in "The Metal Years" and an anecdote in Slash's book where he allegedly said "N*****s shouldn't play guitar" in reference to Slash.

I am looking forward to this but I have a fear that it is mainly going to be about him and his new wife. There won't be any WASP music in it either so not sure how deep into his past it will be able to go visually

Slightly "bigger" than Dokken but "smaller" than Ratt

wasp was marginally popular in the mid 80's, and put on a pretty gnarly live show in their time. Chris Holmes is just an interesting freak. he's an old grizzled freak now. i wanna see it.

I think WASP had a few good albums but Blackie is as big (if not bigger) a part of that sound than is Chris. A real shame to see what bad choices and alcohol does to you in those pool interviews. A good looking talented guy wrecked by booze and the party lifestyle. I mean all these guys partied, but a lot of them also kept a level head. He's an example of what happens when you go the other way. I think the documentary will still be entertaining though, but it is just going to be about a burnout living in europe being murican' and yelling at everyone. Should be good for a chuckle.

From the previews i've seen, and that newish music video of his, this is going to be SAD

Pretty much, Chris should join The Mentors....

Would be interesting to see that yellow Jackson Star that looked like he stored it in a dumpster behind a Chinese buffet restaurant.

LOL!! The Mentors. OMG, I haven't heard that since me and my military buddies were drunk singing "Find Her, Feel Her, F**K Her, Forget Her" out my buddy's dorm window in Taegu, South Korea....LOL

They were actually a pretty big band, at least when I was a teenager living in Germany. All of my buddies were into them and was their favorite band (mine was RATT at the time, LOL)

I dug a lot of their songs. My friend had the first album and "Blind in Texas" which were both great. The song "Scream Until You Like It" was in Goonies 2 and have that on my IPod. LOL.

I had "Headless Children" when I was in Tech School in the Air Force but can't remember a lot of the songs. W.A.S.P. still tours like crazy, without Chris though. I saw concert footage from a year or two ago in Russia.

I've seen some of his horrible videos and songs even though they are absolutely hilarious. I'll post one of the gems.

I had no idea they were ever big anywhere. I lived in Germany for a while in 1988 and 1991-92. I hung out with lots of metalheads and am sure none ever mentioned WASP to me.

WASP was quite big back East where I lived in New England. Every cover band did a WASP song for what seemed like at least a decade.

I remember the first album being pretty cool but that was the extent of my listening to them...

LOL, I left in 88'!

They were big like 85'-86' timeframe. Their "peak" was probably 86' when "Blind in Texas" came out, etc. They didn't maintain it though like other bands. Ratt, Crue, etc. kept rising.

They were a bit heavier so it wasn't something the girls in our class were kicking back and listening to. No ballads.
