True. Would be nice if we could move beyond it.
would be nice if my net worth was $1Billion+; it's not, and wishful thinking or any actions on my part won't make it reality. Unless a Billionaire has an unexpected surprise for me.

:D

I've become indifferent since my divorce several years ago. I'm planning/working for my kids and my future, and getting my exit strategy in place.

The way I see it, we're (in the USA) on a sinking ship. When you're on a sinking ship you have three options: 1) try to save it; 2) abandon it; or 3) sink with it. I don't think #1 is possible, and I have no interest in #3. That leaves #2.

Many of our ancestors left their families and homelands for a better life in the USA; they didn't stay to die for, change or save their homeland. Nothing wrong with doing what many of our own ancestors did. IMO

Enjoy the decline.

I understand all the reasons for pessimism. I admit it seems like things are stacked against a good outcome. Nonetheless we just can’t know how things turn out. Unlikely alliances can be formed. People can wake up. Honestly, the people in power these days are so ridiculous you almost have to be willfully blind not to see it (which many are). Even if the political system collapses that doesn’t necessarily entail widespread violence, or full scale societal collapse. Humans can also be pretty ingenious and resilient.

indifference is working well for me.

yes, when Rome gradually fell, giving way to warlords, brigandry, and the dark ages those who came out on top were certainly ingenious and resilient. We'll never know the numbers of those nameless people who were killed, enslaved and destroyed in the process.

Back to our present day, I find the decline more entertaining than a concern - especially when the champions and proponents of stupidity reap the results of their stupidity.

I'm enjoying the decline, are you?

What are all the Marines doing? This is a matter of national security. Put 10,000 marines on the border with shoot to kill authority. Then see shit stop real fast. School shootings? The same. Put Marines in there. They seem to be able to solve shit pretty quick. Violence is the only thing that's going to fix this problem.

You all can try your politics and see what happens, or has happened so far, which is nothing. Personnel with GUNS will fix the issue overnight. But noooooo..... can't have that in this peaceful pacifistic nation full of pansy ass liberals.

Remember kids, guns is always the answer.

Yeah in some ways it’s entertaining. I’m also hoping for something better next. Everyone is worried about CBDCs and totalitarian dystopia. But the move towards these solutions is evidence that the elites know time is limited. Once life sucks under that sort of system they will likely be run off. It won’t be sustainable even if they manage to implement it.

WTF are you even talking about ?

:ROFLMAO:
Not talking about you specifically, but the typical black white left right arguing back and forth. Nothing gets accomplished and the problem gets worse. Shoot a few of these migrants and put up a huge sign, cross this line, get shot and killed. Not my problem your country sucks. Nothing to do with racism either. Fuck, I'd rather be in Mexico than this country. No snow down there.

Indifference makes all the difference. Once you stop caring, things get entertaining. Once you have your exit strategy, things get easy.
Exit to where? Whole planet is fucked.

not quite; but I'm not telling where I found (several actually)

I have a few more steps:

1) move to a more secluded location - too many visitors to my little island.
2) get my oceangoing sailboat - in the next 2-3 years.

there are a few other steps too, but those are the main ones. have to wait another year before I can sell this place for my youngest.

Sounds like a lot of work. I have no interest in prepping so I can last 6 months longer than everyone else. I just want it to be over. All of it, and fast.

The supposed apocalypse is overrated bro. Things might get tough, but it's not all over, at least until it is.

That's my strategy for dealing with women.
