I delete any "Feeler" or "Testing the waters" type post's I come across...Your either sellin or you ain't

I felt the same way previously, now I don't. Before someone actually sends the money over I consider it for sale. Meaning, don't hold your item for anyone as a favor & don't think hat if someone asked for your paypal address the money is on its way. You can easily just refund the money if they happen to send it after it's sold. First money sent is the one who gets it.

That's my internet buy & sell policy lately and it works!

Buy New tougher on the pocket, great peace of mind and warranty!

Not always. I bought my 101B brand sparkling new for a couple of hundred dollars more than people buy it used. I bought some great guitars new for the price they are being sold used. Just find the right time, have a chat with the retailer & chances are you gonna get a smoking deal & peace of mind too.

No shortage of tire kickers out there, and people seriously lack common courtesy.

I just had an ad up on craigslist and got so annoyed I pulled it down. One guy, instead of asking me if I'll take a certain amount on a unit, flat out tells me "$400 for your Neumann" and that's it. I told him there was no way I'm selling a Neumann for that amount (that's canadian $ to boot) and didn't bother giving him a counter offer.

Here's a follow up to the Neumann email...now the guy's giving me lessons on how to list my stuff.

Eff that a-hole :gethim:

I have had sellers not respond as well. You would think with the down turn in the economy sellers would be glad to see a message from a potential buyer, but my experience is that there are alot more back outs and lack of response from both buyers and sellers since the economy went south...

J,

I'll buy all of your amps and Cabs, I'll call you tomorrow. :D

Hey guys,

I have a paisley super shiva rig and I'm puttin' out the feelers and stuff. I'm thinking I want $6k for this one of a kind rig. I'm not ready to sell it yet, but wanted to know if anybody wants to buy it. Send me a PM if you're interested. Only serious inquiries, please. I had a guy that was interested in my Gibson LP I have for sale. He kept saying he'd take it, so I told other buyers to stand down. We agreed on total with shipping and he said he's need a few to get the other $100 together, so no biggie. Didn't hear from him for a while until I bumped the ad, then immediately he asks "If I Paypal you tonight, can you ship tomorrow?" Told him I could drop it off within about 24 hours of payment clearing. He writes me the next morning and says his car broke down, so sorry...he can't buy it now. I bump the ad, and then he decides "Wait, I'll just put it on my CC, but I want more pics of it." I take more pics upon request, bump the ad. Then I'm told "I'm 99.9% sure I'm taking it." A few days pass, then I'm told he really can't afford it right now, I should proceed with another buy if I have one. Umm, well...they're all gone now because I've tried to be nice and hold this thing for weeks. So now I'm back to square one.

I drove 1.5 HOURS to meet someone before for a sale, waited 45 min AFTER we were supposed to meet up, then get a call from him saying "Sorry, something came up and I can't make it." Really? Would have been nice if you told me that BEFORE I drove 1.5 hours and waited another 45 min...just to drive another 1.5 HOURS home and start all over looking for buyers again...because I never heard from him again.

Next time you meet someone, I would get half the money upfront. That might avoid that situation. Sorry about your bad luck, I hope you find some buyers...

Tell me about it! fuck that's all that seems to happen to me lately.
I got 3 "I'll take it's" a few months ago, all on the same item within a few days of eachother and not ONE single person got back to me, one of the guys told me he was so sure he wanted it and would paypal me that night! Nothing! AND I was offering to pay shipping!?!?!?! I'm from Canada, half the time I ship something It costs me a fuckload to ship so I'd be spending some of the money I'm trying to recoup not a huge issue, but still!

The other one that fuckin irritates me is "whats your absolutly lowest cash offer" I don't know about you, but if I post something for sale, the price I list is usually what I'm asking hahaha   fuckin don't kick tires it's not becoming! and makes me want to deal with you less! not only is it forshadowing for a clusterfuck in the making!

It's just so frsutrating lately! on top of that I've been having some issues with some online retailer, I wanted to buy some stuff, not the whole store but a couple hundred dollars worth of accessories, and his page wasn't working, I tried a bunch of different browsers and computers and alerted him of the issue and got a reply saying he would fix it and he never did, and then asked again and got a smart ass answer, well I guess the economy in the US isn't that bad at all if my money is no good for you! :jerkit: :powpow:
is there a middle finger smiley?

I had a guy pull a dick move like this a few weeks ago. I had an ad on CL for a Les Paul Studio with EMG 81/85 with an EMG afterburner listed for $600 (which is a pretty decent price in my mind) and a guy e-mailed me saying he'd give me $375 for it   I just felt like replying to tell him what a flaming douchebag he was and how I wished that he would shit his pants :D ...I didn't do it, but I wanted to...

My favorites are the guys who ask a hundred fucking questions....I'd rather deal with a flake than respond to that shit any day.

When I was selling my '95 LP studio, I got a $450 offer and I felt the same way. I did end up selling the LP studio, but I wish I still had it

$600 is a good price

I was selling a LP Traditional Premium Plus earlier this year and had it on my local CL for $1600. A guy emailed from NY saying he "knew the economy was bad and things weren't selling" and "I would be glad to give you $1100 shipped for it." I emailed him back and said "I am sure you would be glad to give me $1100 but that ain't gonna fucking happen." :gethim:

I sold the guitar the next day locally for the full asking price.

Yeah.....Low Ballers are the worst.
If you want to make an offer.....dont make an INSULTING offer. :gethim:

Another bastard shot down   Using the economy as a tool to try to rape you out of $500, pshh. I wound up getting rid of mine also, in a trade though. The lowballers kill me, no shame whatsoever  I forgot to add that in the e-mail the guy sent me he specifically said "I'm not trying to lowball it's just all I have". And I was just thinking, well I guess you don't have enough to buy it then dumbass
