Just getting a bit "more" out of the amps, I have these -
MXR micro amp
Suhr Koko Boost
Badgerplex Vintage Preamp
XTS Tejas Boost
Xotic EP-booster
Xotic RC-Booster
and just depends on the amp or situation.
The RC booster is pretty adjustable and kinda neutral. The XTS I've been grabbing for the most lately because it just does something killer to the mids.
They all sound good though and different from each other.
I have a Timmy and Klon klone too but don't really think of those as boosts.

Lifts the cleans and / or, drive the gain channel,…….equally impressive on both,….. very transparent,….. very nice,…… imo

If you want something that's not completely transparent (in a good way) but seems to add a bit of magic to a clean or semi-dirty tone, give the Z Vex SHO a try. I've been using one since early '99 for more classic/rootsy guitar tones...nothing has been able to unseat it for that purpose.

I ordered the MK. 4.23. Seemed like what I'm looking for. I have an EP Booster already so I really want something uncolored and articulate. Getting ready for the Amp Fest, also grabbed a Carl Martin PlexiTone, holy smokes that pedal is friggin awesome. I also have off my pedal board and able to plug into the amps an MXR 10 Band EQ and an OCD. So it's a few nice flavors. Will report back.

This may be exactly what i am looking for to use with my 5150 III. I hate the low cut of overdrives! plus i am using ceramic warpigs so i don't need allot of juice. I was also looking at the badger plex but im not sure if that would be the best option for metal!
