Clean boosts!

A newer RC Booster. I had an older that I loved, but the SH special edition (which is the new one) was described exactly as I the things I would changed on the RC. It is apparently only very slight.

It's a great pedal if you just want a slight boost to your signal.

BUT, I have to give props to the EP Booster. It does color the tone, in ways that is hard to describe...just more of it. More low end, more high end, more balls, just more.

I love using the Bad Monkey with the gain down. I know I sound retarded but I love it. Best sounding cheap pedal out there.
I have a Bad Monkey. Ejecta sent me a link yesterday for a mod that removes the mid boost a bit. There's also a mod to boost the bass if want more. I'm going to try the mod that removes the mid boost and see what happens.

hermida dual boost
2 different settings in one small pedal--clean boost that doesn't alter core tone--no added bass flooding which may indicate a high pass filter in there somewhere...great for dirty tones. one channel becomes 3.

rc booster is also really nice and a few acoustic players i know use it, which normally means super clean boosting..more bass than hermida if you desire that.

ep is very cool in a vintage way. nice murky glow and smear around the notes. me wantie!

I have the CAE/MXR boost line driver in the effects loop of my Budda. At only 9 a clock on the dial, it gives me a hellava solo boost.

The Timmy and the RC booster are very good. Actually my fav is an MXR Microamp

The MXR actually adds some color though...
Maybe compared to a Timmy, but mine is very transparent compared to my 808.

My mod for that is plugging into the "mixer" output. Try it if you haven't already !

I'm really interested in that Xotic stuff but it's a little pricey, I'd probably go used though. Any one heard of the MI audio stuff? Barber? I can't really find any info on the tim and timmy pedals you guys suggested, theres some clips on youtube but not in the context I would use it.

How bout this guy? http://www.creationaudiolabs.com/mk423hb looks cool.

Oh and maybe I should just send my maxon off to get modded cheap? Take away the mid hump, stop sucking the low end and just make it a little cleaner? Any suggestions for that?

    You must be a master electrician to do a mod like that. I'll have to try that...

You guys ever hear of metal pedals? I saw them in my local shop the other day on my lunch break and looked them up online. Turns out one of the guys that works at the shop builds them. Seems pretty cool, I'm probably gonna go back and check them out when I have more time, they have the sex drive and the super hard on. I want to find an RC booster to check out too though.

The metal pedal I'm interested in is this guy:

another vote for the RC booster, love that pedal for a super transparent clean boost. I really like all of Xotic's stuff. There are quite a few pedals in this thread I would love to try though. :inlove:

I've tried a ton of them and settled on the Z Vex SHO...best there is IMO.

I've heard tons of good things.

There's a builder on TGP, called This1sMyne, who makes his own SHO-esque clone boost, and it's supposed to be incredible. And it's only about $65 bucks.

I have one, and it is terrific.
