Clean to Mean Rack Tones 12/27/25

Took out the Duellist V3 and ran it thru the 1959HW and the rack. There were some killer SRV type sounds on it and nice higher gain tones when using both sides. I need to use this pedal more and learn it better.

Duellist is great when you have the right amp.
i used it with a Fuchs OD II and tried to dial SRV at first but that pairing naturally led me more to EJ leads


then a pedal i didn’t really think would do the SRV thing well—a bogner xtc blue—did a pretty tube screamery thing with a Synergy DS


imo the real SRV thing is one of those tones that only works convincingly when the amp(s) are wound up so that the power tubes speak more than the preamp, and i found it more naturally if you blend a pushed plexi and a pumping fender clean.

my SRV pedal of choice is the discontinued Klamac Arc Furnace. ideal tube screamer sound with a switchable boost circuit.
