He's such an insane player !

Wow on the BE ........how is that amp still available ???

Robert Scovill is one of the most respected concert sound engineers alive and my hero in that discipline.
Mixed for a bunch of no namers like Petty, Rush, Del Lep and is resident house engineer for the annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame event.
Every time i watch one of his interviews i learn
something amazing and this is no exception.

If live sound is your thing, great stories and witness the cutting edge of AI driven mic feedback elimination.

That’s dedication sounds like you finally nailed your tone.
until something else new and shiny hits the airwaves! and it always does.

i’ve drilled down about as far as i’m capable and willing to dig with my current rig. anything else i might consider a upgrade would come at a handsome price.

a rack compressor upgrade, a blackface bassman head or fuchs blackjack 22 mk II, a pair of 25-30 watt old school sounding celestions to mess with or a pair or barefaced 1x12s…nice thoughts but not losing sleep over it.

my next goals are fixing my H3000 and cleaning up my rack wiring once that is installed. that should keep me busy!

and glad @JackBootedThug sorted out the Egnater hack thing!

That’s chumbucket’s detective work that let us know about the hack. 2fa folks. It really helps….

in FOMO and curious if something can dethrone the DS, I checked out the JMP and Tone King modules today.

happy to report JMP which has found its way into a lot of rigs is was not my thing. don’t need it.

Tone King was very impressive. killer fat fendery clean channel with sparkle so no complaints there. the trem sounded great too. the lead channel had interesting mid gains but not enough to really sit how i wanted it.
the lack of a master per channel—replaced by the 2 attenuators—was challenging to imagine easily matching volume with another channel in a Syn 2 dual module system.

Dang, did we talk up Bruce so much it prompted the fake scammer LOL.

Interested to see if any rack stuff shows up at NAM. I know it’s a niche nowadays, but will be a good temperature check on the ‘rack resurgence.’

I remember seeing Kasha Rock Mod was supposed to be jumping back in the game. Website shows some historical products, and it was my impression a new Kasha preamp was coming to the market.

Have seen anything in the wild, and if there was product available through the official site, my tech challenged brain never found it.

Always liked clips I heard of the old Kasha Rock Mods, seemed like they leaned towards that thick sound I shoot for.

Wonder if Kasha will be at Nam.

the dark side of vintage rack ownership.

got these dead horses back from my friend’s studio yesterday.
time to wrap them up for a doctor’s trip to the mainland!

After my stint with the 2020, I got the 3000, the one with the headset to do sort of talkbox/robot voice stuff, which also was improved in terms of patch switching latency.

But I traded that one in for a Boss GT-3 and used that for quite a few years. In terms of FX control, parameters, etc. it was quite ahead of its time.
all hail Zoom!

had to restring my burning tobacco and while at it pulled the pick guard to address my noisy volume pot

unscrewed the pot from the guard to isolate it from the radical cluster of kitchen sink LA switches and pickups nearby, wrapped with paper towels to mask any risk of overspray and shot out the gap just above where the lugs enter the pot with Deoxit Gold contact conditioner. spun the pot until i felt the lube working. buttoned her back up, fret polish, intonated, and bingo it feels brand new again!

Nothing exciting about a computer or pedals that have a secondary menu that you can't see. Is there not a single rack that ticks all the boxes, damn these pedals and computers. Namm 2026 is a fail.

this is sure interesting—especially the easy pickup swapping and replaceable frets!
