The Marshall is boosted by an SD1. Straight in on the Diezel.

Who you got?

To me they both sound so similar that I don't even hear a difference :) i probably like the 800 a bit more because of a better low end which is weird cause I thought diezels are overhyped in bottom end. Maybe it's the cab or something. But both sound excellent.

Wow those both did sound similar. Slightly preferred the 800. I love Diezels but there's just a bit of some stuffiness or congestion that I kinda hear. I'd certainly be happy to play either.

Man, the 800 all the way here, just so much fuller sounding and the mids are in the perfect place.
You have a good one for sure!
I can’t seem to get that sound out of mine (2203 RI). I used a Boss SD-1 into a Boss Waza Tube Expander, same master settings, tried different cab IRs, just feel like I’m not getting the same gain/saturation level as this.
Maybe it’s the SG :)

i like the 800 as well...
to clarify though..., with the exception of the SD1, both are straight in? The VH2 is very dry,...the 800 though, to my ears, has almost a ghost tone/note quality about...makes it feel a tad bigger. like a small, very small amount of reverb.

nice clip...love the chord choices for the comparison.

There is a touch of reverb and delay after the IR for both clips. I meant straight in as in no boost or tone sculpting like the SD1 with the Marshall.

There is something about the old 800s. Hard to beat 'em for sure. You have to keep in mind how damn loud they need to be though. It's ungodly.

Been really enjoying your vh2 clips. I prefer the JCM800 here though.

Marshall for me. Sounds warmer, rounder and softer with more low end.

I would be happy with either.

To my ears on the cheap headphones I am using I would go for the Marshall. It seems to have more of a lower mid thing going on slightly which is usually what I like. I would however think the VH2 would be better with a 2nd guitarist in a band mix due to that.

They both sound superb. But you're really not helping my gas for a JCM 800! I think I'll be blaming you for most of my gas recently. A few months ago I really wanted a Studio Classic due to a couple of videos you posted! So thanks! haha :-)

Both sound killer. It’s hard to beat a boosted 800.

I liked both for different reasons - but both together would probably sound pretty ripping!

800 for me, just sounds like it will get there easier and with better overall tone once there. Maybe the settings?

Yep, love the VH2 but Marshall takes it for me.

The JCM 800 sounds a little fuller in the low end, however both would be great when played with a mighty bass guitar in a band.

Wow! For me 800 by a long shot. Kinda surprised tbh. Badass set up between the two for sure.
