This is why I got rid of my OS, in favor of the Traditional.
WOW, I didn't think it would be that noticeable....The traditional was nice, full and crisp/tight. The OS cabinet had this unfocused resonant boominess to it, YUCK!
Thanks for posting that vid.........it was educational.![]()
In the vid, you had the OS cab in the corner, and yeah it wasn't great.
Did you try the OS cab in other locations in the room?
Just wondering if that had anything to do with your thoughts on the OS cab

Different sounding cabs for sure. Putting the OS in the corner for a room A/B comparison is not doing it any favors, though lol. They're already a bit boomier, and that spot is just going to increase the boominess picked up in the room.
One is wired series/parallel and the other is parallel/series.
My first Mesa 412 OS was a 2009 model that hadn't been played a lot. Being my first Mesa cab I was so excited but when it arrived my VHT 2530 crashed it lol Boomy is the best word to describe it. I got lucky and it was sold a week later. Some years later I got a nice offer for a well played 2004 one. It sounded glorious especially when paired with my Mesa Tremoverb and I decided to keep it. I still love it and it excels at recording.
