Nice!!

That amp sounds so wicked. You buy the guitar or just using it for the clip?
In in the 90's I had an ESP prototype that was made for "A member of Slayer" is all I was told by ESP when I asked.
It was a neck thru strat with like a lava burst crackle. Sound familiar? :dunno:
Guess it never made it into production though it seems.

There is more info on the guitar in the Youtube description but no, Jeff never sold any of his guitars but he did trade and give them away to people he worked with from time to time. I believe his wife is in possession of the majority of his former guitars.

Think it might of been made for Kerry. Had the Fire Crackle on it exactly like this. But it was a strat shape.
Ever see it in the Slayer camp? I had it before this V shape was made.

Sorry man....not trying to hi-jack the thread.
Just seeing this clip reminded me of it. Havent thought of that guitar in years.

Kerry sold all his old guitars to the Hard Rock even his shorthorn mockingbird his Dad gave him when he was 16. That's al I know I love his crackle Vs and have owned a few over the years. Wish I had one now.

I had one of the USA custom Wartribe Warlocks.
FN awesome guitar.

If it was a strat type body, I'm thinking that it was probably for Hanneman. King never played strap type bodies. Probably because he's a pussy and needed pointy, weapon like guitars in case he had to defend himself due to his big mouth. ;)

That's the same guitar that Jeff is holding in your avatar. It still has the fake blood dried into the wood on it from that photo shoot. :D

Jesus Christ monkey balls was that sweet sounding!

So vicious man.

EXP,

You had posted an Ocean mod old Cameron in a thread in 2012. Had the rotary switch on it. The pic of the amp is the last post in the thread.

How close to the Snorkeler tone is that Ocean mod in your opinion?

http://www.rig-talk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=103745

You know I made that post a long time ago and Mark kind of set me straight. I think it was Todd that actually owned that amp that was called a "Ocean" originally, if I am remembering things correctly (That pic in the thread is his)...

When I say in my post in that thread that my friend had a "Ocean" mod it was actually a Jose, my friend just called it a "Ocean" mod.

There is no Ocean mod is was just a Jose mod on more of a medium gain setting. It was described as waves of a ocean crashing online. So that's kind of where the name "Ocean" came from and stuck. Mark himself will tell you there is no actual "Ocean" mod and that its just a Jose without super high gain.

In other words the Snorkler and Ocean are two pretty different sounding mods. Also Mark likes the Snorkler for rythm tones but he is not a fan of using it for leads. Me personally I think it sounds killer for leads and the clips speak for themselves.

Hope this info helps, that bit about the real "Ocean" mod can be confusing.

I'm impressed you remember it. And I also like the Snorkeler riffing. AIC is really more riff and less leads to me, which I usually like better when done as well as Jerry does.

So is the Snorkeler mod out in any current production amps? PM conversation possibly if the topic is too incendiary....
