EXP,

You had posted an Ocean mod old Cameron in a thread in 2012. Had the rotary switch on it. The pic of the amp is the last post in the thread.

How close to the Snorkeler tone is that Ocean mod in your opinion?

You know I made that post a long time ago and Mark kind of set me straight. I think it was Todd that actually owned that amp that was called a "Ocean" originally, if I am remembering things correctly (That pic in the thread is his)...

When I say in my post in that thread that my friend had a "Ocean" mod it was actually a Jose, my friend just called it a "Ocean" mod.

There is no Ocean mod is was just a Jose mod on more of a medium gain setting. It was described as waves of a ocean crashing online. So that's kind of where the name "Ocean" came from and stuck. Mark himself will tell you there is no actual "Ocean" mod and that its just a Jose without super high gain.

In other words the Snorkler and Ocean are two pretty different sounding mods. Also Mark likes the Snorkler for rythm tones but he is not a fan of using it for leads. Me personally I think it sounds killer for leads and the clips speak for themselves.

Hope this info helps, that bit about the real "Ocean" mod can be confusing.

Thats the way Mark described the Ocean mod to me to also.

I had a Snorkler modded Marshall I bought from Maken Music like 20 years ago. It sounded killer just like he video. I also didnt like the way it sounded for leads for some reason, but it was still killer. I wish I kept it, but those were my gear flippen ala stev king days
