I need some help from fresh ears over here guys.

Here's some of the stuff i'm working on at the moment, which amp do you think is working better for what I'm trying to do here?

(5150 has bias mod, MM choke and MM output transformer.)
(VH4 is a 2012 and everything here is on ch3).

thanks for your help!

Cool stuff. I gravitate towards the VH4 clips. The 5150 is tighter and more focused, but I feel the slightly looser and thicker low end of the VH4 fits the vibe of the track better. The boosted one is a bit more composed in the lows, but I like the character of the unboosted one and would be tempted to slap a multiband comp on the unboosted to see if that shapes it up a little more.

Thanks a lot for your thoughts and checking it out mate, much appreciated.

Cheers for the suggestion on the multiband too!

That VH4 boosted clip sounded the best. Just raw and refined both at the same time.

thanks mate

It's really strange, playing in isolation I've been preferring the 5150 as the VH4 wasn't as saturated and not as grindy.
But when the vh4 gets into the full mix (boosted or unboosted), it seems to fit into the right spot and sound much better.

First, I dig the tune. A lot. Reminds me a bit of the heavy part from A Perfect Circle's "The Package".

Second, I prefer the unboosted VH4. It's not quite as tight as the boosted version, but it has the hard-hitting oomf that this song feels like it deserves + a bit of character that breathes life into the guitar. Th 5150 clip has more top-end sizzle which I don't enjoy.

Funny you should say that.. Billy is a massive influence of mine especially when it comes to lead parts and style.

Thanks for checking this out, much appreciate the kind words too!

I need to run the treb and pres on the VH4 very high to get any sort of life/bite out of it.
It's a very dark amp.

Read some posts where you mentioned you picked up a ceriatone?.. If I already like the VH4 and wanted to push a little into Marshall territory without going to far.. do you think the Yeti would be the best bet?
You still loving the Ceriatones also?
