if you gut it and totally rework it, it can be nasty, or leave it as is just extra work and I don't prefer themor do as bogner did and add boards ...

Actually truth is that there was a lot of cool and unique things done to this amp that out of respect for the people that worked on it they asked that I not say much more.
No new clips till next week sometime while me and my "friend" try to learn the riff to "Die Young" so we can play it on the next ones. Also if you want you can always subscribe to the channel it's just clips of different amps that I come across and sometimes I don't post threads or updates here when I put up new clips.![]()
Thats pretty shitty but im not surprised frankly.EXPcustom":nu650b1b said:Just a FYI, I don't really want to turn the direction of this thread but it's about some of the crap I had to go through to get it restored.
When I originally called Bogner about this head back in 2010 the guy I spoke to on the phone was really cool. European accent, i think his name started with a "S" but I really wish I could remember it...
Anyways I told him I had a head coming in from Germany and would like it gone through have it set from 220 to 110 etc. and asked if they could get Reinhold to confirm it by either a letter or signing the chassis and getting a logo for the headshell. The guy said they normally wont do something like that but he said he would do it for me and to ship the head down when I get it, at the understanding I would be paying their hourly bench rate. I was totally cool with that and was totally stoked.![]()
Anyways about two months later I had to go down to LA for business anyways so I thought I would just bring the head with me and walk in there to drop it off. What a huge mistake that was.![]()
I walked in with the head and instead of a "Oh cool, a old Bogner Marshall!" it was more of a "What the fuck do you want, we dont really service heads made over 20 years ago." I began to explain the situation... I was then berated by the person in charge at the shop saying that they are not there to help me get a letter so I can "flip the amp on Ebay". He asked who I spoke with on the phone but for the life of me I could not remember their name other than it started with a S(unusual sounding European name). So dude just goes to find broken Bogner logo to give me so that I would go away.![]()
That's where I got the logo you see on the amp. No, it was not Bogner that helped with restoration of the amp. I never got to speak with Reinhold or show him the amp. I was at one time a loyal customers of theirs buying a new Fish reissue when they first came out, Ubercab, XTC etc... I no longer purchased any new products from Bogner since then after the way I was treated.![]()
I guess I should be happy I got a logo out of them after all. You know since I am going to flip this amp on Ebay.![]()
FYI for the record I will not be selling this amp on Ebay anytime soon.

Thats an unfortinate situation indeed. Maybe they knew of your association with Mr. C and treated you poorly because of it ? No matter, customer service like that is unacceptable. Many of these small time boutique builders (which Reinhold was at one time), whom later become quite successful often forget their roots and the people that helped them along the way.![]()

That's a bit harsh....I mean I had a BE modded Marshall with a SAT switch..nice amp..asked Dave to do a loop and simple clean and it was almost as much as buying another stock 800 lol..he is a nice guy that takes care of his clients. But ultimately the amp just didn't have what I really wanted so off it went..I haven't heard any Friedman sound even close to this Bogner modded Marshall though..to each their own..charveldan":2hzo6lg1 said:Friedman is all about Marshalls and so am i.EXPcustom":2hzo6lg1 said:I get it Dan, you're a big fan of Friedman but for some of us its just not our thing.
