Cobra: Fx Loop issue... line to instrument converter?

I just snagged a Framus Cobra. Love the amp, but the fx loop is parallel and does not play nice with my pedals. I explored the info on getting the loop mod converted to series, but some say it robs the Cobra of the original tone. Perhaps I should get converter box of some sort? Any suggestions? The cheaper the better, thanks!

I don't know if you can convert a parallel loop into a series loop (though there are plenty of boxes that do the opposite). If the trouble is the level of the signal, G-Lab makes a cool gizmo that should match everything up.

Otherwise, you could try to install a Metro loop, leaving the factory loop there but just never using it.

I'm tempted to do that with my Rev G Triple Rec. The parallel loop is really pretty bad, and the "series" mod doesn't actually make it series. Just in theory you could just install the Metro loop over the top of everything.

Thanks for the replies. I don't expect a box to convert parallel to series, but convert line level to instrument then instrument to line on the return. Hopefully the loop would be acceptable at that point (?)
I'll have to check out some of these links here

How about a cheaper rack unit? My Jubilee loop didn't like my pedals, so I bought an intellifex for 80 bucks. Works great now.

If it's a parallel loop it should have a mix control. Set that to 100% wet, then it should effectively act as series (with the possibility of not sounding quite perfect as a series loop, but probably pretty close).

Thanks for the replies/help. The issue is not necessarily the fx loop being parallel, but that it is line level (or are the 2 things intertwined, IDK?)

I scored a Jaded Faith STEP pedal off RigTalk classifieds. STEP stands for Solves That Effects-loop Problem so I should be looking good!

I'll updated when it arrives in case anyone else needs this info for reference.

I believe the channel volumes may impact the signal level going to the loop. Try running the channel volumes lower and the master volume higher.

I actually had an Intellifex years ago & loved it. But I just invested a bunch in a new pedalboard that sounds great

The Cobra actually needs the ch volume 3oclock to max. Anything lower sounds like fizz & buzz awfulness
