In looking for a great channel switcher, these two look very interesting.

The latest NAMM demo vids look good. Anybody done time with either amp or both?

The high gain is great on both. I heard some great cleans out of the Gemini.

How does either do some classic rock type stuff. Think Zep Blues rock.

You can easily get that sort of tone out of the Gemini or Colossus. If you are doing blues rock stuff I can't imagine needing more than the Gemini...

Btw, I have a Gemini now and will be making a video of it this week. It will NOT only be metal.

I play a fairly wide variety. Stripper metal like Rob Zombie Dragula, Living Dead Girl. And of course the normal rock metal, but I like blues and Dire Straits. The kill switch on most amp buys for me is that they can't do good bluesy Straits kind of material.

Kyle was explaining to me the many switches and channel setups, gain stages on the Gemini. Seems like a great flexible amp. I would get his press programmed 7 button foot switch.

Looking forward to your review and vid.

If you could even hit a few licks with a Strat or tele kinda clean, that would be very cool.

Thx

The Gemini won for me hands down. That amp literally does everything.

I played a Colossus .Amazing amp .
The clean channel is incredible from Spank to funk ,blues , country great great clean channel.

The lead 1 was amazing too .reminded my of an SLO with more modern tones easily obtainable, different feel and vibe but the Soldano style tone is there
Lead 2 was thicker more low mid .

I love the Rhodes stuff

I played the Colossus, and listened while a bunch of very different styled players also played it and the Artemis. I was completely blown away. it is simply the best amp I've ever heard. If I was a little richer, I'd have a Colossus and be waiting on a Gemini. Personally, i'd go for the Gemini, as I prefer two channels to 4, kind of a less is more guy, and the Rhodes stuff in general is already really feature packed.

The Gemini has quite a few more tone options per channel (with the extra modes/fats/voicings) over the Colossus so it should cover pretty much anything you need. I love my Colossus for progressive hard rock (non-metal) tones. Just wait for the Colossus MkII :D

I have a Colossus and I've tried the Gemini. Eventhough the Gemini has two channels, it has more gain on tap via the boost function. What it doesn't have that the Colossus has is the crunch channel. IMHO for something other than just metal, I would go with the Colossus.

This is basically what Kyle said. Colossus and get the Andy Wood mod.

Or get the Artemis with the clean crunch lead channel set up.

If you like multi channels with separate EQing go for the Colossus. If you like switching options and less channels go with the Gemini. Colossus is the flagship amp and has those tones in the Artemis and Gemini. They are both extremely versatile but with different approaches to their functionality.
